I would definately reccommend that you go with the CS person to check labels.
Angela!
I sincerely hope you requested to see the manager when you caught her being so dis-honest.
There is such a thing as "Your statutory rights are not affected".....
Yet I think she was definitely affecting that!!!!!

Bang on the nail!!
The reason everyone finds it so difficult to obtain refund and replace is that the policy is there to avoid Tesco facing prosecution because their pricing strategy was under scrutiny, the theory behind it being that a store would refund and replace then alert head office which would in turn cascade the information to regional managers and then down to branch level, of course this does not happen and we all benefit, it is unlikely to cease altogether because as I said earlier the policy was introduced as a "see we are taking measures" gesture to placate the critics after a few high publicity "price errors!" Tesco were keen to dispel any doubt that they had a deliberate marketing strategy of NOT reacting to price errors unless someone complained and then still not rectify mistakes/errors whatever you like to call them, as I have said many times before what actually happens is it draws the attention of head office to sloppy housekeeping as all refund and replace instances are reported, hence no refund and replace no black mark against the branch which is clearly a disincentive to any manager to the policy willingly.
This is not isolated to Tesco ALL supermarkets overcharge try checking your till receipt elsewhere and you will see similar results, Tesco is just the only supermarket to offer refund and replace. The rest are happy to shut up and carry on ripping off their customers and palm them off with the difference when they get caught.
As far as refund and replace goes we shouldn't be considering it's demise but contributing all we can to ensure other supermarkets follow suit!
I'm up for a campaign to put pressure on the likes of Somerfield Asda et al to offer a similar scheme because sure as hell Tesco are going to start getting their prices right after we give em a kicking at the tills!Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
If you are overpriced for an item (or several!!!) and you get the refund at CS, should CS deduct the amount of clubcard points u have earned for those item(s). Not that they have tried to do this with me, just a thought !There's no woman sicker than the woman who is sick on her day off !0

I'd definitely advise going back with the CS Assistant to the shelf to show them where the price is advertised. This is after I'd bought two of the Combat Vehicles with the lower price stickered on them - there were several left on the shelf the same, however the CS Assistant who went to check the others came back and swore blind that none of the remaining ones had the lower price stickers on. I was furious as he was implying also that I'd put these stickers on myself from another item.
He refused to refund me so I demanded to see the Duty Manager, who thankfully (and even surprisingly!) overruled him.
So...how satisfying it was to encounter this delightful CS Assistant again when I had the mispriced chicken. When he told me he'd have to go and check the shelf price, I made sure I darted off with him "to show him where it was"
Fool me once, shame on you....fool me twice...........NOT LIKELY :rotfl:0 -

I can still see the look on one assistants face when she realised that yes I had been over priced, but, I had paid for a £17.00 shop with my card and £14.95 worth of coupons, she pointed it out and I said so give me my coupons back then, no way was she going to the checkout doing an uplift to sift out my coupons, the credit went on my card thank you very much.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
