jude123 wrote:Well I've just come back from my shopping trip and I am really annoyed. Thought everything was going really well - managed to get two half legs of lamb priced at £6.69kg on pack, offer on shelf said 40p reduction to £6.29. Paid for it and went to Customer Services, assistant went of with till receipt then came back and told me I'd picked up New Zealand lamb instead of British (the one on offer), but she could let me have it at the reduced price. So she gave me £2.80 back and I went to take shopping back to car, telling myself to be more careful in the future.
Then I realised I'd forgotten rabbit food and had to go back, passing lamb display on the way lol. The shelf sticker said nothing about New Zealand or British, the fridge had a mixture of both in it, some at the correct price, some wrong. I was half tempted to buy another couple with the British label on but wimped out.
Never let the CS assistant go off on their own to check prices. Either take a picture with your camera phone or say you will go with them. They are not above removing/moving signs to fob you off.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

isn't that a bit extreme? Taking a picture in advance sounds like it is premeditated which I know it might be but if you knew it was wrongly priced before you purchased it then you are deliberately taking advantage.
that sort of thing might cause them to pull the policy altogether0 -
First tesco i visited had stickers on the steak :-( and yellow modification tickets on the lamb legs - making them all the correct price.
second tesco found two wrong priced steak in the correctly priced ones but date was tomorrows and two legs of lamb priced incorrectly other had stickers on them.
Thanks very much to op £50 notes worth of meat.....very very happy...
CS were a pleasure - please have these goods with the compliments of tesco.0 -

So its a good idea to put your shopping in the card and then come back into the store or to shop with someone else so they can stand guard over your shopping while you go to check. Otherwise your shopping could go walkies!
I think that they would get very sus if you started taking photos of price labels

I think buying the max 6 and then going back for another 6 is more likely to make them pull the policy.
Quite honestly I get fed up with seeing a large special offer sign by an item only to find it doesn't go through the till at the offer price. I used to tell them at the till, until I joined MSE and got wise;) , and then stand patiently waiting for an assistant to answer the tellers bell, stroll off to the aisle and take a look and then come back and say "yeah.......".
Also I have had an assitant pull a sign and rip it up not knowing that I had decided to follow her to the yogurt fridge which was where the mis pricing was. I always after going through the till and finding a mis price go back to the shelf to check the price label to be sure of my facts before going to CS. I just say I took the picture when I returned - which I do.
Mhoc - I take my shopping in the trolley back to the shelf to check after paying. I will leave it at CS by asking them to watch while I go with assistant.
You only need to show picture if you let them go on their own and they deny sign or offer etc. so you are not showing every time.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

If a store is too sloppy to check their prices, well...why shouldnt we take advantage ? I prefer to call it being a savvy consumer. Im sure trading standards would be very interested to hear about constant mispricing, maybe its one of the reasons they implemented this scheme
If they pull the scheme, it will confirm to everyone that Tescos cannot manage their pricing properly on the shop floor, it wont be due to the tiny amount of refunds they've had to do and Im sure their competition will have a field day with that
If at the very least this thread makes people more aware about checking their receipts, then we will all benefit from not being ripped off!"There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children; one of these is roots, the other wings" - Hodding Carter

I do agree that taking the picture is a bit extreme, but yesterday I told a womsn on CS about a misprice, she went off on her own came back and said it is the large pieces of pork for that price dear and showed me the label, she had 3 other labels tucked behind and avoided showing them to me,I said let me see those other labels which she did,and low and behold she had the small pork label, which was the one I had seen, she was definately trying to hide the one I had seen.
I would definately reccommend that you go with the CS person to check labels.0
