Just in case anybody is wondering the Harry Potter book goes throught the tills at the CORRECT price, now that would have killed off refund and replace I think.

But what if they remove the shelf label before you return? there is no way to prove you are telling the truth. My mobile is camera-less and I'd dread to think what looks I'd get if I got my digital camera out in the middle of the aisle. What do you recommend to prove you are right about this?

In that case it would be better if you made a couple of quick dashes and cashed in there and then.

Thinking about how I'm going to make sure I spot the overprices in future, instead of crossing things off my shopping list, I'm going to write the price next to them. That way it's an easy check to see if I've been overpriced as there's no way I'll remember the prices of 100+ items with "singing" baby wanting my attention going round the store.

Pen and paper is fine but usually when I mention it I get a whole load of people grumbling that it's too much effort to remember to carry one

Pity M&S don't have the refund & keep policy in place. I bought a pack of 10 choc biscuit selection which had a POS price of 99p. Till charged £1.49. Went to CS and the assistant barely acknowledged me before charging off to get the POS ticket (with me in pursuit and even then she tried to tell me it was only T Cakes reduced. I had to point out it said in small writing 10 choc select etc). Marched back to desk and before refunding me made a call informing them of the pricing error.

Felt like shouting  I'm here - serve me first sort your errors out after :p

Maybe that contributes to why Tesco are the most successful retailer in the UK, and M&S aren't ;)
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Think I've spoilt this for others after me in Coventry Extra.

Oh well, I suppose I should be grateful that coventry has 4 more tesco shops for me to go to....

And here I come Tesco...so, sirloin steak I need to look for now, yes?!

I hope I didn't ruin your trip to another Coventry store Iromarha!!

After my trip on Saturday Afternoon, I walked upto CS with 3 packets of Value Pack Steaks (not being greedy like!) and 3 joints of pork!!!

ching ching!! A nice little refund of around £42.00!!!!

And get this, the girl on CS thought that it was great that I'd found these!! I nearly kissed her!! :D:D

Why can't they all be like her, and respect that its tesco's that has to pay up, not them!!!

Here's looking forward to next weeks shop already! :rotfl:

wanting some advice really please (ben500??)

Bought 2 electrical items from tesco.com. one for me and one for a gift. The website clearly said "was 29.99, save £15 plus free delivery". I ordered 2. I copied the advert from their website and printed a copy off on my computer as i always do to make sure i am charged the right amount. Once i received my order i found i was charged 2x£29.99. i e-mailed them and pointed out they had overcharged me. They said they had no record of the offer i was quoting. I scanned and e-mailed to them copies of the print outs i made from their website. They are now trying to say i have made this up and that the scanned items are not from their website (although it has the tesco logo and also the webaddress on it). They have asked me to forward a copy of the order confirmation i was send to my e-mail address. I have refused and said i have sent them all the relevant information and i want my refund immediately. They have written back to say without me sending a copy of my order confirmation they cannot proceed with this matter. Where do i go with this?

BTW the order confirmation does state each of the goods is £29.99 but that is not what it said on the website when i placed the order. I actually didn't notice this until i got my credit card statement of 2x29.99 and then went back to check what i had been charged. I have not sent them a copy of my order confirmation because it says £29.99. Surely this is irrelevant. I bought the 2 items because of the advertisement on their website.

ANy advice of where to go with this please.

    THanks

Firstly refund and replace does not apply to Tesco.com if that is what you are looking for, in relation to the website promotion if as you say you have screendumps and they are from the genuine Tesco website and have not been tampered with in any way, it would sound to me like you have a pretty straightforward case, did you check the t&c's applied to the offer is there any way you could be disqualified, ie existing customer brother of chairman of the board etc.

I would think Trading standards and Citizens advice should be your first port of call, the email is going to be problematic but if they advertise a deal they must stick to it, belatedly pointing out that you were charged full price and didn't complain before now is no way out for them.

Make sure all your facts are right and if they are go for the jugular!

Well a refund-and-replace would have been nice :D I bought the items because i thought they were £14.99. If i had known they were going to be £29.99 I'd have not bought them from tesco. I have not tampered with the print outs and i have fulfilled all the t&c's. They just refused to budge. Will try again tomorrow and i will follow through with trading standards if i have to threaten this.

    Thanks for the advice ben500
