Tesco Wrong Prices Thread - please post your finds here

Does anyone know whether any of the following tesco stores take vouchers and if so how much ??

Batley - Tesco Extra
Bradford (Nr Forster Sq) - Tesco Extra
Stratford upon Avon - Tesco Extra
Evesham - Tesco Extra

Have loads of vouchers to use but have been refused at several stores.

Can you be a little more specific, e.g. what type of vouchers are you trying to use, how much are you spending in total and how much are you trying to pay of that total in vouchers?

If you've been refused at "loads of stores" there must be a serious problem with what you're offering them

As a general rule they will only accept one particular voucher for a product that you haven't bought (so you could only use one Glade air freshener voucher if you hadn't bought any Glade air freshener)

They will only accept vouchers for up to 50% of your total spend (if it's vouchers for products you haven't actually bought)

Generally speaking they won't accept "photocopied" vouchers. If (like me) you only have a black and white laser printer they probably won't accept any of your internet vouchers, as they think they're photocopied

They are having big problems with people coming in with hundreds of pounds worth of internet vouchers, so tend to be very cagey about internet vouchers, even in colour

What exactly are you offering them?

Me too!! Restrained myself to four packs, thought any more would be greedy, tempting as it was as the chiller cabinet was full to the brim!! We all love chicken thighs roasted with garlic and rosemary so a huge thanks to RussLE for this!!!!

Hope someone can help with Tesco policy as I bought a TV a while back and got the standard "we refund you the overcharge" as it rang through a few pounds over the shelf price.

If I'd known about this, would they really have given me a TV for free?!

Your coupons MUST be non store specific ie not Tesco,Sommerfield,Asda coupons etc, a good guide is to check the back of the coupon to see if it has an NCH code and an address to redeem in Northants.

Tesco MUST sell the product and it MUST be in date

Try using the checkout operator with the most spots, or the biggest smile so long as you approach them with a responding smile and pleasant manner your success rate should go up, choose your wording carefully when challenged, there are many on here myself included who have had the policy confirmed by head office in writing the policy is not a myth you merely have to overcome the arrogance of the few individuals who feel that because they don't agree with a policy they do not have to abide by it, these people need challenging as they deprive people of taking benefit from the policy all day every day up and down the country. Better still contact customer services and get your own written proof to wave under their pompous little noses, these people play on the embarrassment factor and bully customers into submission, if like you say you do have an inordinate amount of coupons make a point of sharing a few out to everyone in the queue behind you once they have agreed to accept them just to rub their noses in it you won't be challenged by that operator again and will be able to get away with blue murder! If you display a confident manner when dealing with them you will find it gets easier and easier to deal with these people as you get to know all the bogus excuses they will give for refusing coupons such as, the policy changed last week/month/year at the millenium, only 10% of the bill, maximum one,two,three coupons per transaction, you haven't filled in the details on the back etc etc

I bough 2 boxes of the typoo berry burst selection today (20 in a box) the price on the shelf said 39p the price on my reciept 80p

The result i got my money back (after she got the ticket from the shelf) and free tea (no 20p coupon inside mine)

It was the tesco extra at leyland lancashire

I can't help with 3 of the stores, but I know for a fact that the Stratford store takes vouchers... How many though depends on the till person. They have been told to take no more than 2 vouchers of a single type if the customer hasn't bought the product, but accept up to around 10% of the total of the shopping. It does depend on who you go to though.
