aint_life_great wrote:In Tesco today I noticed that the British beef rolled brisket joint had £3.88 KG on the pack but the shelf edge label said £3.49 KG I bought it, then pointed it out to a member of staff and they took me to the till to get my money back-didn't even have to ask! Hope this is available elsewhere, I've had loads of offers from all you lovely people so thoght I'd contribute.
Ticket on the shelf *still* wrong at Tesco Middlebrook. I picked up 3 joints with the other pricing errors mentioned here but only the beef joints worked. Total spend £17, used about £3 vouchers incl a Tesco free tomatoes on vine that scanned at £1.14 off even though the toms were only 98p! Went to CS and got my £12 back for the joints, ended up with 3 OJ's, Desiree pots, mixed peppers, toms on vine and 3 brisket joints for £1.99"There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children; one of these is roots, the other wings" - Hodding Carter

Charlotte_ wrote:Bought 4 sets of Fisher Price Peek a Blocks
Items are stickered at £6.99
Shelf price £5.97
3 of them scanned fine at £5.97
1 scanned as £6.97
went to CS and got £6.97 back and kept the item
The one you want to look for is called LEARNING FUN (displayed in orange panel at bottom of pack)
I doubt very much Tesco will correct it as she took no note of the one that did not scan correctly and it was the last one on the shelf.
Here is a link to the Fisher Price website so you can see what you're looking for

At Tesco in Milton-Keynes, they say the shelf-price is only for one of the items in the range, based on the bar-code of the shelf-price sign which applies to one specific of the 8 or so items, and that all of the rest including the LEARNING FUN one are still the old price of 6.97. Initially was glad when the LEARNING FUN went through but the customer service lady went to get a superior who examined the shelf sign with a fine-tooth comb and declared that the special price is not for the entire range but only for one of the items and all the rest cost more. When I asked why there there is only one shelf-price for the reduced one, and no shelf prices for any of the rest, she said by law they are not required to put any shelf price up for any item and if there is any doubt as to price a customer can come to customer services desk before purchase and ask what the price is.0 -
BTW, Middlebrook Tesco store operate a bulk purchase limit of multiples of 6 items (a sign is displayed at C/S). Its not normally enforced, but if you're thinking of "filling your boots" might want to take that limit into account."There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children; one of these is roots, the other wings" - Hodding Carter

But Tesco cannot limit the quantity of your relatives, friends, partners etc . You can always take one or more of those with you and have them each buy 6...0 -

Absolute twaddle!!
They overcharged you you are entitled to refund and replace on ANY item you are overcharged on, if the point of sale indicates a lower price then that is the price you should have been charged, I'm sorry to say these people simply fed you B******T in order to avoid the refund and replace, if you call customer services and tell them you intend to bring the matter to the attention of the Trading Standards (note the policy is also a part of every tv campaign they run)as you were clearly mislead on two occasions the first being that the item would be one price and charged at higher price and the second the failure to honour the refund and replace policy which they also advertise at every customer service counter. Follow this advise and you WILL receive what is due to you.
Every day this happens across the country and is the result of conivance and not ignorance! Many many people walk away and lose out because of some pasty faced supervisor or assistant making their own interpretation of trading laws and company policy, in short on this occasion you were ripped off. Take a digital camera to the store and photograph the display if you like and inform head office you have done so.
Remember whilst refund and replace is a voluntary policy adopted by Tesco once they advertise it in the store they are legally obliged to honour it as it becomes part of their marketing and has an influence on where you might shop. ie you may choose to shop in Tesco specifically because this policy affords you some protection over mispriced products that another store doesn't. This is why their head office enforce this policy and don't just fob you off with some sweet story about how it only applies to people over 125 yrs old and under 3.7" with both grandparents present etc.
If the items displayed are similar and the offer only applies to specific items within a range it is the responsibility of the store to ensure that is made clear at the point of sale and NOT the checkout or later. I'm only sorry I don't live closer as I would be in the store like a shot for a showdown with these little Hitlers!Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
The Florence & Fred hair bobbles do scan at £1.49 instead of the £1 they are stickered at, I got 2 packs and my money back no problem at all, the Learning blocks on the other hand I had a similar response about shelf label as above but the lady on CS was so nice and said did I want them still or would I like a refund so I got a refund but she was VERY pleasant so I didn't feel awkward-different staff on a Sunday! And I just think you win some you lose some!! The bobbles are good though there a 3 black, 3 white, 3 grey with white stars and 3 black with white stars in each pack. Thanks for this one!0

Bakery dept. have 6 hot dog roll pack at 67p, buy 2 for £1 or 99p (cant rembember which) but the offer does not come off at tills. Purchased these at 9am this morning and not got my money back yet so hopefully plenty of time for everyone else to buy these for nothing!
Be careful to pick up the right ones as there are also 6 finger rolls for 68p not on offer. They looked exactly the same apart from label.
Also look out for BirdsEye chilli potatoe skins in freezer section for 1p.What goes around - comes around
