If there is a second referendum ...

Out of interest what question would you ask and what options would you give?
I am in a whatsapp group with strong remainer friends, they can't even come close to agreeing between themselves what it should be and I haven't seen any examples of questions and voting systems that don't look like they will be heavily attacked by at least one side for bias (and therefore been seen as illegitimate).
So with the whole 'second referendum' thing I am worried we are just embarking on yet another debate with no end.
I have posted it before.......
I would ask Q1: Remain / Leave
And then ask Q2 : If Q1 provides a majority for Leave do you favour: NO DEAL or MAY's DEAL
All of these options are within our control.
Alternatively, you could ask Remain/Leave on three options May's deal/ Leave without a deal but have a single transferable vote system.
Of course a more sensible thing is to revoke A50, work out what we want and then start again.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

"What deal should the UK have with the EU going forward?" With a single transferable vote answer of:
WTO
Mays deal with backstop
Full EU membership.
Covers all the bases?0 -

So how is Scotland taking an economic hit by leaving the UK worth it for sovereignty, but the same doesn’t apply to UK leaving the EU? If Sturgeon had her way she’d only take your newfound sovereignty and give it straight back to Brussels anyway.
We'll get more sovereignty in the EU than under England. The EU gives us a seat at the table, the UK ignores us and if we get the deals we're looking at we'll still have to follow EU rules.
I'd rather we all stayed in and flourished but I'd rather be in an progressive EU than an regressive UK.0 -
Great options Herzlos,
although it would need some boning up on the WTO rules, I presume?0 -

Everyone would need to have some vague understanding of the options first. I doubt anyone would be able to agree on a fact sheet covering the details because anything based on facts would be devastating to the leave options.0 -
But we did vote to leave so we can maintain free trade.0

.
Exactly. There is no point in offering choices we don't have.
Waffling on about Norway or Canada or renegotiated Backstop is pointless - those are not available options.
We have In/Out, and if Out, we have May's deal or No deal. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
We have diminished influence going forward, whatever happens.
That is quite clear.
Recent events have demonstrated that the other EU states do not believe in the UK commitment to the project.
Listen, be honest. Don't pretend to voters that Remaining is going to maintain anything. It has no guarantees. I suspect the rebate will go, and the push for Euro adoption to get much stronger.
I think that the EU believes that the UK government is committed to the EU project but they just can't drag the sheeple along with them. The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0
