Certainly a majority of the voters on the day, voted to leave. Not a majority of the eligible population.
Now, things are so much clearer, let a more enlightened population vote again. Completely democratic.
I do agree we are a divided nation. Don't know what to do about that, but I can't change my mind about the oncoming rapid decline in what is my homeland too, by saying that brexit will be OK simply because more people voted for it on a given day.

If remainers in charge, the athlete finishing first will get silver and 2nd place holder would get gold.

The team scoring fewer goals would be winner.

But we can forgive them - math is not everyone's strong point :D

So the EU is offering it's granite face to May. They must think the UK will cave and leave on May's original deal.

    1. We leave on May's deal. The DUP initiates a No Confidence vote. Corbyn government by June.

    2. We leave on WTO terms. Tories stay in but holding the baby.

And May is now having talks with Corbyn.
Not sure it was wise of her to invite that Machiavellian snake into her tent.

Why do all the EU haters shift blame all the time. The Irish border problem happened because we invaded and stole their country.

We can leave the EU easily, WE don't want to really leave. A minority of angry people want to leave. Due to the problems with democracy they've got it in there heads that we have to leave by any means necessary. That causes a problem for the majority that don't want the country to go down the pan.

If we could eject the leavers from the country then it would be much easier

What a ridiculous post, perhaps the remainers could leave if they're so unhappy.

Show us please some of these "EU haters" of which you speak with quotes to validify your frankly ridiculous comment.

Even that pales into insignificance compared to your "The Irish border problem happened because we invaded and stole their country." statement for sheer absurdity. As it looks like you need educating, the Normans are responsible for that particular invasion along with that of Britain. So blame the French (they were from Normandy, hence "Normans") or even the Vikings from which they were descended.

On a voter turnout of 58.7 percent, 98.9 percent voted to remain in the UK.

That means that it was a majority of the eligible population.

Why do you think the EU is punishing us for leaving? In what way?

Also remember big decisions like relating to Brexit negotiations are all approved by the member states.

So your point would be more accurate if you said this:

Then the EU should support independence for Catalonia. Then there's Bavaria, Flanders and Wallonia, Veneto and Lombardy, Corsica, Brittany, Sardinia.

    A big can of worms.......................

    reread (quote) my post

If you mean the £39bn, it's just the UK's share of certain parts of the EU budget which were agreed by the UK before Brexit.

It's really like when you a sign a contract and agree to pay for something. No-one would call that a "punishment", except of course the Brexit frothers when they're jumping up and down about "the EU".
