teafor2 said:Thanks Sunshine. I know it's a strange choice of word but I was really happy I was with her, especially considering how many people haven't been able to be with relatives and friends the past 16 months.
The pots have definitely gone to potbut I'm just going to start over. It was surprising how quickly I got things under control when I first started posting on here.
Yes, DD finished Uni this year and achieved a high 2:1, just 1.5 marks off a first. Given the circumstances we're very proud of her. She wants to teach in high school and is starting her teacher training placement in September. It's SCITT which is learning on the job and she'll do a PGCE alongside it. Not totally sure what all that means tbh lol. It's local which is good as she's moved back home.
DS finished school on Friday. Not that he's been in much. He's had 3 x 10 day isolations periods in the past 2 months and was only at school 1 day between the second and third! So far, touch wood, considering he's been in contact with people who've tested positive he's not had it and he hasn't passed it on to us.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you're keeping well. xSounds like you are getting back into the MSE ways again.
I can't remember did you get rid of your caravan or have I made that up ?Have a lovely rest of the weekend.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.2 -
Well done to your daughter , and good luck in her teacher training. Let's hope the next school year is better than the last 2 for all school children.Sounds like you are getting back into the MSE ways again.

Yes, we sold the caravan. we decided having to pay full site fees vs. the uncertainty of not being able to go again was too big a risk to take. Plus we had Mum to take into consideration. If she were still here there's no way I'd have left her every weekend.
It's very odd how being on here soon gets me back on track but it works so I'm sticking with itHope you've had a lovely day. xx

It’s so lovely to have you back Tea. I am an avid reader of diaries but a bit of a lurker however I am trying to get over this.Your pots are looking good! Are they still cash in an old handbag or has COVID changed that? Xx1

There are so many good diaries on here but I know if I commented on them all I'd be on here all day, so I'm a bit of a lurker as well.
The pots are still cash and still in the handbag apart from Christmas and Birthdays. They grow too quickly to have all that money in the house so the main chunk is in the bank, but my 'top ups' into these are still cash. x

Afternoon everbybody
Day 27/31, Prolific £3.97 cleared £0 outstanding, Shoppix 610/3200, Spends 26th-31st July, £30
My new week started yesterday so I've got £30 in my purse for the week.
I did part of the weekly shopping today and spent £30. That, with what I've ordered online tomorrow should come in at just under £100 so feeling very pleased with myself. There may be a little top up required but it should be less than £10 and I might get away with not having to do one at all.
Bought a few things out of the charity pot so that's now down to £10.
DD went for her interview, which didn't turn out to be an interview. It was at a take-away pizza franchise and basically she worked in the kitchen for 2 hours making pizza, which is the job she's applied for but I think she was expecting a manager to come in at some point and interview her. Apparently somebody will ring her this week. I can see the point of working first to see if you like it rather than doing the whole interview process, getting paperwork into place etc. then realising it's not for you, but I'd say working an hour would be long enough to know that.
She's previously worked in an Italian restaurant in Media City and she said she found it all very 'slow and local'I'm not sure she's the ideal candidate anyway. She was told she had to count out the pepperoni slices but didn't bother so somebody got a really good deal yesterday, which will probably never be repeated unless she gets the job of course. She says life is too short to count pepperoni slices and I tend to agree.
Hope you all have a good day. x

I hope your daughter got paid for those 2 hours…it seems like a sneaky way to get free labour if not.
