Morning Everybody
Day 20/31, Prolific £2.25 cleared, 70p outstanding, Shoppix 30/3200, Spends 19th-25th July £23
I was in bed last night desperately trying to think where 9 lots of £200 had gone when it suddenly dawned on me I was lay on some of itJust before I moved in with Mum we had our bedroom re-plastered and because I'd built up money with nothing to spend it on I bought a new bed which was worth every penny. It's the most comfortable bed we've ever had.
Then I started to remember even more! I moved in with Mum and with nowhere to go and nothing to do, the money mounted up, so I also bought DS a new bed and wardrobe, DD a new bed for when she moved home and a new storage cupboard for the hoover and ironing board etc. More recently I spent about £75 on the garden and £140 on train tickets although £60 of this has been refunded.
All together that came to about £1,200. I still can't figure out where the remaining £600 has gone but I feel better being able to account for a big chunk of it, and at least it's been spent on furniture and beds and not just been frittered away, although how you can forget buying beds and wardrobes is beyond me. All I can put it down to is having more pressing matters on my mind with Mum.
I suppose if I divide £600 between 24 weeks that's £25 a week I can't account for but really I'm only trying to make it seem better than it is.
Today I'm going to do a quick stock take of food, cleaning products and toiletries. Food and cleaning stuff isn't too bad but I seem to have enough shower gel to wash the whole street
Hope you all have a good day and manage to stay cool. xx

Morning
Day 23/31, Prolific £3.25 cleared £0 outstanding, Shoppix 30/3200, Spends £23
We're having friends round tomorrow for a BBQ so I'm sat here trying not to panic about the news that people are panic buying again. The main things I need are bread rolls and salad but all I can see in the papers are empty bread shelves! Hopefully, now the 'pinging' criteria is being sorted out, things will calm down. Fingers crossed I'll get what I need. I don't recall struggling to get anything during the first lock down, although I vaguely remember eggs were harder to come by.
I can't see me spending anything this weekend so I should be able to divide the £23 into the pots on Sunday. I've only been back on here 5 days but already there's something in every pot. No idea why I need to come on here to be able to do that, but it seems that's the case so I suppose I'd better stick around
The only pot I've kept going is DS's savings of £10 a month but I forgot to add it to the list so need to do that. Also need to add the church collection which is £20 per month.
It feels a little cooler today and there's a breeze which is nice. Hope you all have a good day. x

Oh I hope there is enough bread for you. If the rolls are gone then try looking for part baked rolls, wraps, etc. There might be more of one type than another…or no shortage at all….it’s all really hit and miss depending on location. Our Mr T’s had a run of no salad and no eggs, that seems to have resolved itself now.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Thanks WW
Happy to report shelves were fully stocked and there were also plenty of goods being put out by staff. We're lucky to have a choice of 3 Mr T's all within a 5 minute drive. An express, a decent sized local store and also a superstore. I tend to drive past the express because for the sake of another 2 mins in the car I'd rather save the money, especially if I need a few things and I rarely go to the superstore because it's too big. Anyway, I have bread rolls and lettuce so panic over

Morning
Day 24/31, Prolific £3.55 cleared £0 outstanding, Shoppix 280/3200, Spends £23
Had a couple of surveys and scratchcards from Shoppix so that's bumped up nicely.
Can't see me needing any more shopping this week, (famous last words), so totalled up what I've spent which is £108.26. Not bad considering it's recently been more like £150.
When I went for the bread yesterday DS asked for chocolate and crisps, so I made him hand over some pocket money. Normally I'd just add it to the shop but I buy chocolate bars and crisps as part of the weekly shop and I think when they're gone or if the DC's want something different it's time to make them dip their hands in their pockets. When I was younger chocolate and crisps were a rare treat in our house and that was what our pocket money was for. For younger readers I'm approaching mid 50's so yes, I am a mean old lady
Hubby also wanted more crackers and cheese but considering he's the only wage earner I told him I wasn't going to comment on the fact that we're supposed to be on a 'when it's gone, it's gone' economy drive.
After the hot weather, it's verging on the chilly today but we are hardy northerners so shall BBQ regardless! Hope you all have a good day. x

Haha I am only a few years younger than you Tea and we never had crisps and chocolate at home growing up or pudding after tea. I remember the huge excitement one Christmas when we got a sack of satsumas! It was a plainish biscuit if we wanted something sweet & mum bought wagon wheels once in a blue moon but they were huge back then 😂 xx1

Wagon wheels were huge…and don’t get me started on Cadbury’s creme egg shrinkage. I couldn’t believe it when they brought out mini creme eggs….’they are already mini’ I cried 😦Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Dad loved biscuits so there were always some in the drawer but only plain ones and if we were on an economy drive Mum would buy a box of broken biscuits instead. There were 4 kids and I can't tell you the excitement if one of us found a whole bourbon in there or the jealousy of the other 3 kids that they hadn't managed to grab it first.Everything was bigger years ago, 2 bites of any chocolate bar and it's gone these days. No wonder DS can work his way through 3 while he's waiting for the toast to pop! x
