Thank you all for your lovely comments, they really are appreciated. Mum slept for 6 hours solid last night and I can't tell you how much that means to her or me :)

It's DD's 21st this month and she'd asked for a trip to New York with hubby and DS. She's been talking about it for a couple of years now so we had plenty of notice. There's nothing like planning ahead is there, only for a virus to get the upper hand :(  I did tell her it didn't appeal to me and the pace of sightseeing would be too fast so it was never on the cards that I would go with them. Sadly, nobody is going so it will be a New York themed night at home instead and the trip will take place in the future. My sister and brother are on stand by to come and stay with Mum so I can go home for a couple of days, although I'm not sure who will come.

In money news I don't have as many pots as I used to because we did a New Year re-vamp of household finances and we also sold the caravan just before Christmas. The thought of paying over £3k in site fees to possibly only be able to go for a few weeks again didn't appeal to either of us. The pots have definitely been neglected but I've not been spending anything so I just need to divvy my money between them at some point. Surveys and Shoppix are right at the bottom of my things to do list as well.

Anyway, I think that's about it for now. It would be nice to get back on here more regularly, it's very cathartic to see things written down in black and white - I always think things never seem as bad when they're actually on paper in front of you. xx

    Thanks Beanie and BB50 :)

In a  positive turn of events I came home yesterday afternoon and I'm about to spend my 2nd night in my own bed, although I'll be back on Mum duty again tomorrow. Her new meds have started to work and she's been a little better at moving around which means she's been able to get downstairs using her stairlift and make herself a drink and something to eat. We decided she'd try 2 nights on her own to see how she gets on because realistically I can't keep living with her full time when this could go on for months. I stocked the fridge up before I left so she's not had much to do apart from heat things up.

I was planning to do all sorts when I got home but I've actually done very little. I just haven't got the energy, physically or mentally at the moment. I think I'll do my pots before I go back tomorrow though. I need to start bringing a bit of normality back into my life now and that seems a good place to start. I might even start Shoppix again, although none of us really go anywhere so there's not a lot of receipts to be had. Surveys will have to wait as I can't commit the uninterrupted time to them, which is a shame as I made nearly £300 last year.

I've just said to hubby he'll need to ring the florist tomorrow  and complain that my big bunch of roses never turned up for Valentines.  :D Hope you've all had a lovely day. xx

Hello Tea, it's been a while. I'm sorry to hear that things are so rough for you at the moment and that your mum isn't great. These are such trying times so I hope you're trying to make a little time for yourself, even just a tiny bit.

  • I'm glad your Mum's new meds have helped her and that you managed to have a couple of nights at home, I'm sure that will have done you good. I'm not surprised you feel exhausted and I hope you managed to do a few things to treat yourself at home as you deserve it. xx
