    Morning :)

    Day 1/31, Prolific £1.20 pending, Week 1 Spends £32.50

Coffee with friends has been cancelled. :( Two of them live in a borough where the latest advice is to not meet anybody either indoors or outdoors. To be honest considering what is allowed to happen in the country, I'd have carried on regardless especially as it's an outdoor venue, but I respect their choice. All is not lost though, me and hubby will go instead. Unfortunately, he's in my permanent bubble.  :D:D:D

Pots have finally been updated and this months money added to them leaves them looking like this:

    Savings £160
    DS £100
    Dogs £16
    Hair £25
    Christmas £210 + £35 = £245
    Birthday £55 + 45 = £100
    Paypal £74.36

Last month was hectic for several reasons so I'm hoping October will be a bit quieter. I might not have much money to keep track of but I tend to lose control of what I do have when other things are going on in the background.

I'm in cleaning mode  :D This week the DC's bedrooms have been cleaned from top to bottom and the house feels better already. So much easier to do when they're not actually in them!

Hope you all have a lovely day. xx

    Morning :)

    Day 7/31, Prolific £5.65 cleared, £1.45 pending, Spends £26.50
    Shoppix: 2710/3200,  RH: 1062/1500

Not much in the way of spending this week, just £6 a few crafting bits I needed.

The bill for the caravan site fees has come through and the crafty things have set it out differently this time. Usually they show a breakdown of fees and VAT, but this time it's just the 2 amounts of money required. I strongly suspect this is because VAT has been reduced to 5% so they've decided not to show this. Back at the beginning of Covid a lot of people were saying people's outlook in general might change after what we'd all been through. I'm not particularly finding that. People seem just as greedy and self focused as they were before all this, in fact from personal dealings we've had with people, they're even worse than before and I would go as far as to say, in trying to recoup lost money they're ripping people off.

Shopping is coming this morning, then I'm off to see Mum. I need to do the household banking and I've got a phone call to make to DS's school about one of his subject classes. Apart from that it's been a pretty quiet week so far. Hope you're all keeping well. xx

I think you're right TF2, human nature never changes and people will always want to get hold of more money. The company is probably struggling to survive in the current situation, but it's not fair to their customers.

I'm inclined to agree about using common sense rather than strictly following virus rules. It seems nonsensical that I can be in a classroom with 30 children and a teacher and yet can't meet more than six people outdoors 🙄.

How is your Mum? It must be a difficult time for you all.

Yes Beanie, it's not on really is it. Normally I'd query it and prepare for battle but to be honest what with Mum and another irritation that's going on behind the scenes at the moment, we've decided to leave it and see if anybody else cottons on and takes up the cause.

HHD, I was of the opinion common sense was thin on the ground before Covid, now I'm even more inclined to think that way.  :D Mum's doing OK, thank you for asking. The main problem is she has days where she's exhausted but then could easily wake up the day after and feel absolutely fine. It's all very strange and I think the inconsistency of the side effects of treatment gets on her nerves more than anything. xx

    Morning :)

    Day 8/31, Prolific £7.10 cleared, £8 outstanding, Week 2 spends £32.50

I've had a very productive morning. By 9.30am I'd done 2 surveys for a total of £8. After that I decided today was the day the garden would get tidied for winter. We don't garden as such, we plant flowers in pots, so it was just a case of removing dead ones and tidying up the ones that are still flowering. I cut down 6 sunflowers and cut back a shrub. Then hubby gave the patio a quick blast with the jet washer and took 6 bags of garden waste to the tip. It looks and feels much better and it was a good way to get some fresh air.

DS had me laughing last night. Apparently at school there are daily announcements over the tannoy requesting classes go to the hall. It's widely known these classes will then be told they need to go home and self isolate for 2 weeks because they've been in contact with somebody who's tested positive for Covid. He says it's like waiting for your raffle number to be called, but his class never wins.  :D:D:D

I had £26.50 left over from last week so I've split it £10 each to Christmas and Savings, £5 to Birthdays and the odd £1.50 I popped into the charity pot.

    Savings £170
    DS £100
    Dogs £16
    Hair £25
    Christmas £220 + £35 = £245
    Birthday £60 + 45 = £100
    Paypal £74.36

The bedroom still needs to be finished but the guy doing the skirting has put us off until next week, which doesn't bother me too much as I don't live in there, but I would like to get it done because we're also having a new windowsill and we can't get the company in to measure for new blinds until that's finished. Nothing worth bothering about in the grand scheme of things though.

Hope you're all having a good day. xx

    Morning :)

    Day 12/31, Prolific £10.20 cleared, £5 pending, Spends £32.50
    Shoppix : 2885/3200  RH: 1062/1500

Waiting to hear the 'tier' announcements today. We're in one of the areas that's 99% going to be a tier 3 and I'm just  hoping talk of travel bans is only talk because if would mean we can't go to the caravan. As the only concession we got from them was to take an extended season over winter it means we'd be losing out again. We've also had to pay £250 retainer this weekend. :( Feels like we're handing money over and the only thing guaranteed is hoping we can go.

I had a bit of a spend on line over the weekend and ordered £82 worth of clothes from Sparks. A couple of pairs of lounge pants (sounds very upmarket lol) and 3 tops. They'll be arriving today. Just hope they fit. I also bought 2 small Christmas gifts for DC's so need to reimburse myself £8 from the Christmas pot. The DC's have asked for money this year so that's made it easy. I've a couple of small gifts in mind for them so they have something to open and I think I may get those bought this month so it's done with. Feels strange not having any plans for a meal out, a trip to the theatre or an experience to look forward to. We could do the meal but none of us feel that sitting in a restaurant with strangers is something we particularly want to do.

Savings Pot and Christmas Pot have changed:

    Savings £88
    DS £100
    Dogs £16
    Hair £25
    Christmas £212 + £35 = £237
    Birthday £60 + 45 = £100
    Paypal £74.36

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend. xx

Well, so far so good and we've stayed in tier 2. The cynical side of me thinks announcing too many tier 3 areas at once would cause problems, so they've kept it to a minimum for now, but that other parts of the country will join Liverpool over the coming days. I guess we'll just have to see.

The clothes arrived and I'm pleased with everything which is good, especially as it saves me the job of having to mess around with returns. I've re-jigged where the money came from though. I deal mostly in cash so bought them through the household account. Rather than go to the bank and pay in the cash from my savings, I cashed out the £10.20 from Prolific then transferred £82 over from PP to the bank. So the pots aren't the same as this morning.

    Savings £170
    DS £100
    Dogs £16
    Hair £25
    Christmas £212 + £35 = £237
    Birthday £60 + 45 = £100
    Paypal £2.56

Ok, I can sleep easy now knowing I'm up to date.
