:D Oh my goodness, that must have been bad Beanie! When we moved in our house we had to remove all the doors. I just couldn't live with them. It looked liked the previous owner had poured paint from the top and just left it to run down then filled in the gaps. They were awful and to top it all they were all black!!
    🤣😂

  • You must be missing DD TFW, I'm really missing DS3. I hope they can come home for Christmas, which is coming up very soon and I'm 100% unprepared  😱.

I still think DS being trapped indoors for so long at school is awful, but parents don't really have much control over what schools do, although if the majority of parents are against it I would expect the school to take note. I hope DS is coping anyway. At my school we take every opportunity to get them out of doors as it's safer for them in the fresh air and it calms them down.

I'm glad you enjoyed packing your shoeboxes, social contact is so good for us 🙂.

Hi HHD :) I do miss DD when she's not here but in a way it's also nice to have my routine back to normal. She's not that far from us and I honestly think whatever is decreed I'd jump in the car and go and get her for Christmas whatever anybody said. The irony of the 10pm rule for general pub trade vs. parliament bars is not lost on me today, although I've read they've done an about turn after complaints. Anyway, back to DD. She's not in halls, which I think is who they're mostly aiming it at? although I could be wrong.

DS is still stuck in the same room all day. He says his class sizes are dwindling daily though. Geography started with a full class of 30 and they're now down to 10!! How he's not come into contact with anybody positive yet and hasn't been sent home is anybody's guess. I've told him he could be the super carrier/spreader and end up sat there on his own.  :D xx

Thanks Beanie :) Now the money is in our account we've started the process of getting rid of them. I'll be glad to see the back of them. xx

I would do the same tea.
Yes, seems to be mainly halls from what I can gather. xx

    Evening :)

This is the first day I've had of my normal routine since lock down was announced back in March. By that I mean, DD is back at uni, DS was in school and hubby was out of the house. If I thought it was going to be relaxed though I was wrong. Mum is in quite a bit of pain so me and my sister have been trying to sort out painkillers for her all day. It beats me how anybody who has stage 4 cancer and asks for prescription pain relief tablets on Monday is told to collect them on Friday! To be fair, my sister did all the sorting out and I spent some time with Mum then did the mad 5.30pm dash to the chemist in rush hour traffic to collect them. It would seem Mum has fallen through a big crack. Whether it's a Covid crack or a Complete C*ck Up crack we're not sure, but fingers crossed she'll get more support from now on.

I was going to update my money but I'm shattered and happily admit that I can't be bothered counting it. I'll probably leave updating until the 1st of October now anyway. This month has been a bit hit and miss with things and keeping on top of my money hasn't been the main focus. I really want to get back on track again though so will have a couple of days to get myself into the zone.

Hope you've all had a good day. xx

Thanks Beanie. I only half listen to the news now so I'm really not sure what's allowed and what isn't. I don't think we do anything that needs thinking about too much on a daily basis, but I have a feeling we probably broke the rules at weekend by having GD stay overnight. I should probably have a look at what's allowed and what isn't but it's such a fluid situation I've given up trying to keep up with it all. xx

    Afternoon :)

Woke up to fog this morning but as George Formby would have said, it's turned out nice again :D And nice enough to get 2 loads of washing done and dried.

Bought a new hoover today. Spent all of 10 minutes on line looking for one then despatched hubby to A%gos to pick it up. I've had my old one for a good while and I love it but I knocked it over a few weeks ago and broke a bit off it which meant I had to tape the cylinder up. I like to empty my hoover every day so that's been a bit of a pain. It's just one of those jobs I've not got round to sorting but it's done now. It cost £80. Along with technology, household electrical items don't interest me one jot and as long as it picks the dog hairs and dust up, which it has done, I'm happy.

I feel more settled and not as mentally harassed today so think I'll have a look at my money later on and get my ducks in a row to do an end of month round up for tomorrow.

I'm back at the park on Thursday to meet a different set of friends for coffee. It's like being a teen again arranging to meet up with my mates by the swings. :D Hope you've all had a lovely day. xx
