    Morning :)

Just having a coffee break inbetween coats of paint. I'm going to need to buy another 5L for the ceiling, but it's only the cheaper brand which I've used for the mist coat and first coat so it won't cost more than £10. I've one more wall to do, then hubby will take over and do the ceiling. My co-ordination leaves a lot to be desired when trying to control a long handle with a paint roller on the end, while looking up and walking at the same time :D  The plan is to apply the final coat of the more expensive stuff over the weekend so I'm hoping by Sunday it will be done and dusted.

Mum has popped some money into my bank account so we're going to have an in-house steak and wine night on Saturday. The timing is perfect because DD heads back to Uni next week so a nice family meal will be a good send off.

I'm meeting 2 people at church tomorrow to pack shoe boxes which I'm really looking forward to. I've not seen anybody for ages and although we do on line services it's not the same as actually being there. I've a pile of stuff by the front door ready to go and I keep looking at it and thinking no wonder I didn't have any room in the wardrobes! Next year, I think I'll just put money to one side and do a big shop rather than buy bits every week.

Right, I'm going to finish my brew, then see if the final wall is ready. As usual, when doing any job, it doesn't matter which room we're working in, the whole house is upside down. Hope you're all enjoying the weather and staying safe. xx

Thanks Beanie. I'm looking forward to packing the boxes and the steak night will be a lovely treat for us all. Apart from the cooking I much prefer to eat in than go out anyway. I have this terrible habit of looking at food I'm served and thinking yep, that's definitely an over priced freezer meal lol. xx

I wouldn't be too upset RS, it's easier not being able to paint, especially when you're on the 3rd coat  :D Hubby isn't keen on DIY but he does pull his finger out when I ask him to as long as it's not too often. I won't let him paint doors though. He's a bit too slap dash for my liking and the paint drip look is something I've never been keen on  ;) xx

My other half is a bit of a perfectionist so I just leave him too it and don't get involved.

Luckily for me during lockdown I was working from home while the other half was furloughed so he kept himself busy decorating the house from top to bottom.

I once famously painted a bathroom door & it was so bad I had to replace the door.
    True story.

:D Oh my goodness, that must have been bad Beanie! When we moved in our house we had to remove all the doors. I just couldn't live with them. It looked liked the previous owner had poured paint from the top and just left it to run down then filled in the gaps. They were awful and to top it all they were all black!!

I can relate to your other half RS although it's not so much perfectionism, it's just that I can always spot something hubby hasn't done quite right. It's a curse for us both  :D How lovely to have a newly decorated house. There's always a positive side to most things isn't there. xx
