I hope all is ok with your mum after your visit a couple of weeks back
It's frustrating about the site fees isn't it - especially given you can't use the van,nor can you claim a portion back. Hopefully this will all be over in time for you to at least get some use out of it later in the year. I wonder if they'll shave a portion off next year's fees to make up for it? Wishful thinking probably...
Hope you're doing well.
Hi HG
Yes, the silver lining to this cloud is not being able to spend any money!
The letter from the site really annoyed me. We got it 2 days after lock down came into force, so hot off the press, basically saying it wasn't their fault the site had to close blah blah blah. After a full A4 page of them rambling on about how they were looking after our vans and keeping the site maintained for when we all returned, (which is basically cutting the grass and cleaning the shower blocks because there's nothing else there), they must have remembered people were seriously ill and dying from the virus and added a token 'stay safe' comment at the end. Definitely no chance of a reduction next year either.
Hope you're all staying well and that work has calmed down for you and the boys are still enjoying their time off school. xx2 -

That is a shame about the site fees. I know it's not the same amount of money, but we renewed our NT membership halfway through February and only managed to go once before the lockdown, so I wish we'd waited to renew now.
Hi HHD
I think about coming on then realise I've not really got anything to say so don't bother lol. Yes the site fees are a pain but like I've just said to HG I'm more annoyed about their attitude really. The letter they sent out was just blatantly money orientated with a token 'stay safe' tagged on at the end.
We're going to have to see how the rest of the year goes and then really think about it next year, although it's hard to judge what's going to happen. But I really don't want to pay more fees and then have to miss out on a big chunk of the season again. That's all for the future though.
Hope you and all the family are keeping well. Have a lovely day. xx2 -
That is shocking.
It may not be their fault but nor is it yours.

Hi Beanie
Yes it pretty much said it wasn't their fault (think they actually used that term), that a virus is rampaging through the UK and people are dying and we've had to go on lock down. It's a family run site and I'd name them but don't want to make it obvious who I am. You're right, it does leave a sour taste. Luckily we don't have to have anything to do with them when we go. xx 2 -
Morning Everybody

Well, here we are in lock down part 2 - wonder how many sequels there will actually be before the finale.
DS's official Easter hols are coming to an end and it's back to the grindstone for him on Monday - who am I kidding.
I'd quite enjoy the home schooling side of things if the DC's were primary school age but teenagers are a whole different ball game and my biggest input is asking him on a daily basis "are you up to date with your homework".
Had a trip to the local shops yesterday for bread, milk, eggs and mushrooms. There were only a couple of people in front of me at Mr T's so it didn't take long. Then I had to join the pharmacy queue. There were about 6 people in that one but staff were outside taking names so that when you went in the scripts were to hand. Again, probably not much longer than a 10-15 minute wait.
It's not as warm here today as it has been but it's dry so I've got some washing done and pegged it out while I can. I might do some baking this afternoon but then I'll eat it so maybe not!
Hope you're all keeping well. Have a lovely weekend. xx

Hi Everyone

Day 19/30, Prolific £5.32 cleared, £2.20 pending, Spends £20
Mum managed to get an online delivery in the week and I asked her to pop a couple of things on for me so I drove up and got them this morning. I stood at the end of the path and had a couple of minutes chat with her then she popped the bag outside, closed the door and I picked it up. It felt really strange. I've spent loads of time with her recently out of necessity but she's waiting to be called into hospital so she's started the proper self isolation process now.
DD is working on an assignment that needs to be submitted in 3 days but she's not feeling at all motivated and my little 'you can do it' speeches seem to irritate her even though she asks for my input, so I'm keeping quiet now. I know how this will pan out from past experience so I'm leaving her to it. By Tuesday all will be back to normal and she'll be her happy self again.
If schools are planning to open again before the summer hols I hope we get a decent amount of notice because DS is in an awful routine at the moment, although knowing teenagers can sleep for England I can't see the point of making him get up to do nothing, so I leave him in bed where he happily lays stinking for a good chunk of the day!
I'm managing to keep myself occupied because my days aren't much different than usual. There's still housework, washing, ironing and cooking to do and inbetween all that I can always find something to do when I sit down.
Moneywise I keep looking online to see if there's anything I can treat myself to, but I can't really find anything so I'm not going to spend for the sake of it although I do keep looking at all the delicious hot chocolate flavours there are out there so I may yet succumb.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday. xx
