I haven’t been eating so I haven’t really touched my stores apart from the porridge and tea bags which I was well stocked up on so I’m not buying much apart from staples at the moment.I will carry on replacing items as I use them possibly doubling up to save deliveries in the future. I’m also buying some items in catering sizes which doesn’t affect the supermarkets at all. This has encouraged me to buy less products in total where possible.Hoping to use this lockdown to refine my stores and devise some sort of routine plan15

@Nargleblast I know what you mean but I have tins of food which I am reluctant to use whilst I can get out and obtain fresh/short life food from shops. With possible bad winter, Brexit, more lockdowns to come and if I am ill I will be unable to get any shopping as I gave up on trying to get online slots in the first lockdown. I am reliant on myself, no support whatsoever, so. I will try to keep stocks as long as possible just in case.

Ive had to use my stores over the last 2 weeks fatigue and fibro won and ive been constantly fighting the fatigue which means im not using a lot of the stores mainly long life milk and cornflakes will need to restock soon down to 6 when i have been awake ive been carfull to do the most important things 1st ive been able to secure 4 home deliveries every 2 weeks with asda and the other weeks i will try to leave the house or attempt an extra order. Since all home delivery is minimum of £40 it can be dificult to hit that amount when u live on ure own so aside from milk 2week intervals is good for me ive could go 3 or 4 if i could rebuild the long life store typical
I also need to be careful cos of moving at some poing ive got all stores in boxes tinned in 1.and dried in a plastic box i think it 70litre size it about half ful so i could easily add more on week of the move i cant lift any of them so im hoping not too heavy for the movers
I do like the idea of catering sizes in the past ive had them not food but things like foil lasted ten years then i gave it to a neighbour still had loads on cleaning items were another thing i could get but i never found food in the big sizes this is in the days b4 internet would be interested to know where what and siz of catering items if u dont mind sharing it would be a good way to save and also leave more for others like you said
Please excuse any errors im usin a mobile and not easy to notice2nd purse challenge no040£0 Sealed pot challenge ???? £2 trolley find not counting small coins till end year16 -
I can't get my head around prepping for an TEOTWAWKI event; for me it's always been about getting through the next few weeks and not having to run to the shops when it's raining or I'm not feeling well because we've run out of something vital. Hence I only store stuff that I know we'll use, and we do use it up in rotation. So I'll buy, say, a tray of 12 tins of tomatoes, which will do us somewhere between a month & 6 weeks, when we're halfway through the previous tray, and the new tray goes behind or underneath the earlier ones, making sure they're used in date order; not much ever goes out of date, though there are some dried beans out by a year or two. I'd eat 'em anyway! I have stocked extra of a couple of items that I'm aware may become harder to find, or much more expensive, once the lorries have to queue to get through Customs, but they are things that we use lots of anyway. When the boys were still at home, I did buy catering sizes of some things, but now there's just the 4 of us, we'd struggle to use things up once opened. Not that that would matter with tinfoil!Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)14

Hi guys
i rotate my preps before my next shop arrives. We only have a small flat so I move the tinned stuff down and new goes on the top shelf, and then the overspill normally goes at the back of the floor cupboard (but the Xmas stuff is hiding there at the moment )The freezer is used from the top shelf and the older veg goes on the right of the fridge. I learnt long ago that I should never buy obscure stuff that we won’t eat. If we’re ever in such a bad situation that I’m down to my last preps I’d rather eat something that we like. I’ve just the Xmas cake to buy from the Xmas food list ( the rest will have to wait till nearer the time date wise) and then I’ll go back to adding a few tins a week. It’s a worrying time work wise but at least we’ll not starve.

For those with A priority, Christmas slots are being released at midnight. Those with a delivery pass can already book them, those on gov list, it's midnight. I just had a look at the Christmas dates for our store and all are saying sold out, I am presuming more will become visible at midnight.

Anything that gets used from stocks goes straight on the shopping list, also anything that is looking a bit depleted.
My OH has bought a stock of hypothermia blankets, you know those silvery things? I think they are in case the car were to break down in winter weather but it could be in case of power cuts. Though we have duvets and wearing one of those would have been my first thought.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back14 -
