I went on the site last night, got a slot booked no problem, but just about everything I was going to order is "not available". OK ... I'm fine with stuff being out of stock now, but I don't want it now - I want it next week! I don't get why I can't just place the order now and hope it's in stock next week, which after all is pretty much how things were before all this virus lark ...
I've the same issue. My delivery is for the 1st April but I will go back into my order the day before and check whether the items are back in stock and amend my order if they are.

I always used to shop in person never online but the past 24 hours have been a real learning curve, fortunately I was expecting it, so it was more a live test rather than 'argh, there's just no balsamic vinegar to be had anywhere'. Whatever is in stock may or may not show up in April
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?8 -

A bunch of online shopping tips might be widely appreciated on this thread

Let's say you place the order now and pay £47. Then you edit it the day before it's delivered and the total changes to £42. Does the system automatically refund you a fiver, or what?

I said i would pick him up tomorrow and all his belongings as he is finished now. He said not to because he can’t be bothered to get ready at such short notice. I explained that if they have a full strict lockdown i might not be able to come later. He says he will cope. DH attitude is “He’s an adult, its his problem” It breaks my heart when DH says stuff like this. Yes DS2 is 22 but as his mum I want to be able to nurse and feed him if he gets ill. Imperial college have said this is going to be as bad as the 1918 Spanish flu. I hate that I can't give them all a great big kick up the backside and get them to take proper care of themselves

Something to keep in mind is that, if Tesco substitute an item they will refund you the difference if it's more expensive etc. However Morries will substitute the item if they don't have it but you pay the price of the new product they have chosen for you.9 -
