Hate to break it to you but yes, there is legislation (already) that includes a possible fine etc "Under the Health Protection (Coronavirus) Regulations 2020, which were passed last month, a person who is required to be kept in isolation can be taken there by a constable, with the use of ‘reasonable force, if necessary’. Failure to comply with restrictions, or absconding from isolation, is punishable with a fine of up to £1,000." (I'd do it as a proper quote but haven't figured that, yet.)
Meanwhile, I'm doing rounds with my conscience - I'm in a Manchester office & last week was training on new software. One lad has since reported developing "some flu like symptoms" & is self isolating. I found this out two hours ago & am wondering just how soon I should start working from home, (now, tonight) and whether I ought to go the full self isolation based on an email about a bloke who's normal lifestyle & habits I have no idea about. Do I dive into a hermitage as one lad's feeling ropey & quite fancies a week off (on the first sunny day we've had in Months - or am I being an utter shrew judging the poor lad), do I carry on but work from home - it's all a bit ticklish. Just shrugging it off is not an option. All the surviving grandparents have said flatly stay away (or left it for us to figure) so it's just me, husband & 2 lads but one's an apprentice & living away from home 4 nights a week & the other is on A level trajectory. So I feel fine but anxious & foresee that being the default for at least a week!
Dog walkers will be allowed out, eh? Suddenly I feel the urge to buy a leash, so I can adopt a harried expression but keep walking...11 -
Who are all these 44,000 people who have been tested? Apart from the odd MP of course. Are they saying 44,000 people have been through the hospital system already and been tested there.No-one I know is saying they are seeing people being tested. No nhs staff been tested with symptoms.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.10

Went to the vets to pick up a months supply of my dogs tablets, saw a litter of the most adorable 10 week old daschund (sp?) pups! Had to stop myself from begging if any were still available, one of those would help get me through 4 months isolation!!Slightly bitter11

We are in SW too thrifty. Also expecting lots of people to show up.
Following the latest guidance, we are now isolating for next 10 days as DD developed a cough Wednesday. I only made it into the office for one day, having only just started to feel better myself over the weekend. I will have to swing by the office briefly tomorrow to collect the spare laptop, but after that I will be working form home for a while.
Very glad to have plenty in stockFebruary wins: Theatre tickets10 -
Just went on the Tesco website to book a delivery a week Wednesday, and almost everything we wanted to order is not available. So it's going to be Plan B then. I wonder what that's going to be ...
We're all doomed11 -
I cant get any online deliveries at all - either home delivery or click and collect. We're going to hang on a few weeks and live off the stash then go up to the shop at 6am.It's complete garbage threatening us with the police for leaving the house etc. They haven't got enough police to deal with crime, nevermind stroppy old folk going out to buy a paper! But thankfully up here things are far more civilised and polite, and also far clearer.13

I bought our first microwave! I hate them and dont trust them, the rest of the family think im a cave woman, but as i have had to build up my frozen food supplies I thought i had better have one to defrost stuff in case i forget to put it out the night before. Needless to say everyone is thrilled!12
