I'm wondering if British people will put up with being confined indoors like the continentals seem to be accepting. Frankly I feel worse if I can't get outside for a walk however ill I am. Please God our politicians are sensible enough not to set the police on us for taking a walk.Someone on Zerohedge this morning says it better than me:https://www.zerohedge.com/health/panic-will-end-tyranny-will-not

It's got to be a personal decision on acting as advised and self isolating or not. This really comes down to not spreading the virus to others who don't currently have it. We are socially distancing and have been since Thursday but we have been for walks and only at times when we know there are minimum people out and about and we've chosen routes purposely so as not to come into contact if we have seen someone.
I would do anything NOT to get this and just as much not to pass it on if I do. If I do go down with it I will stay in and we will isolate me on one floor of the house or I will isolate HWK on one floor of the house. No contact allowed, knock on closed door to deliver food use mask and gloves and bleach all hard surfaces involved thoroughly. We shall have to take our chances and wait the outcome. We are lucky enough to have shower rooms on both levels so can have separate loo's. This is devastating to contemplate but the stark truth is it's not changeable so we have no choice but to wait it out.

Oh yes love, they both send pictures of the babies, little videos too and both ring and talk so it's bearable up to a point isn't it?8

IF it came to it then full lockdown backed up by emergency legislation should be nuanced rather than virtual martial law. Compliance isn't a blank cheque for social control via the back door. If/when the time comes then we all need to be sensible about it. The more people post on social media about ignoring any ban (I don't mean you JK0 it's a general observation), then the more draconian measures will need to be introduced, inflaming the situation further leading to a further drain on resources that will barely cope - it's all cause & effect
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?10 -
Morning
I completely agree with unrecordings. This isn't the time to think selfishly but the time to act altruistically.
Don't see a conspiracy to bring in more Draconian measures. This is the most important time for us to follow the rules that the specialists are suggesting.
For everyone who only goes out unnecessarily, the chance of it spreading multiplies. Please consider the terrible risks being taken, not just by medical staff but the police, manufacturing industry, and distribution. These are the people whose health you are threatening.
I live in Spain so I am under "house arrest" as someone has put it. I live by the coast one of the main reasons it spread here was because people in Madrid, where the outbreak was worst, decided to go to their summer homes. They treated it as an extra holiday and mingled with people as they would during a normal holiday.
If I have to "suffer" months of quarantine, so be it. At least I will know that I have done my best to lessen the load being put on the people who are out there, putting their lives at risk for us.Don't get it perfect - Get it goingBetter Than Before17 -
Totally agree with the comments. DH who will have to keep his shop open whatever happens (food) says he feels like a sacrificial lamb to the slaughter especially as he nearly died from sepsis just months ago and hasn't been in the best of health since. If you don't have to go out, don't.Spend less now, work less later.16
