    hi Fiona

    Congratulations!

What do you want from your honeymoon in Orlando (and I shall refrain from saying the obvious ;) )

A villa can be lovely and having a private pool is awesome but you may find you get a lot more attention and upgrades etc by staying in a hotel.

BA also fly into Tampa which is only 30 misn further away but you will find the flights a lot lot cheaper. Also try Thomas Cook and Virgin.

OMG you have some planning to do then :)

I really would recommend a guide book. Juz's family guide is good but a new version is out this year, or the Brits Guide as that covers all fo Orlando. book. I think the main question I would try to answer is....

Complete Disney or a bit of everything?

If the former, then nice stay at one of the Disney Hotels would be brilliant. But as its your first trip then maybe you want to see it all! Thats a fun thing to do and you will be very busy!

As for areas, I would reconmend a hotel at maybe Lake Buena Vista or maybe a two hotel stay with a few days in one of the excellent Universal Hotels as well.

So much choice really you need to think long and hard about what you want to see.

    cheers

    Hi All

I will be recording ep 19 of the Disney Brit Podcast on Monday with the team and this week we are looking at Time for a clearout – Rides that have outstayed their welcome at WDW and DLRP.

As usual you normally all have great views on this so it would be excellent if you could post some ideas here for me please.

I just know Adam me and Juz wont agree but lets see.

    Thanks

  • :j Hi All I am new to this site so please bare with me.

I travel to Florida Disney Area twice a year, I have found uscarhire.co.uk to be one of the cheapest & best places to hire cars from, they will rent cars to younger drivers from the age of 19yrs yes they charge a little extra for younger drivers but it is still cheap compared to Dollar, Avis & Hertz. They do not charge extra for people that are 21yrs to 25yrs. like most do. My son & his girlfriend hired a car when they came with us & it cost them £222. total for the two weeks last year, both are 22yrs old, & i recommended it to one of my guests & they hired a mini bus for 8 people for around £440. & that was November time last year.

For all those who like to shop, do use the vocher booklets like others in this forum advise. If nothing else it pays for the tax that is added at the tills.

If looking for shoes try Rockport at prime outlets at the top of International drive, it buy a pair Get the second pair half price or buy two pairs & get the third pair free. on top of that use the voucher in the booklets & your on to a winner! This deal as been on offer since 1998 and never seems to end.

    Hi there

OK, here is what you can do to book your Disney ADRs online. Go to the Disney website at www.disneyworld.co.uk then on the left hand sude near the top there is a white text link that says "VISITI US SITE" click on that. once at the US site you will see the large text menu at the top. Select BOOK then select DINING RESERVATIONS. The direct link is http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/restaurants/

Once you are here you can select your resturant, location or type and then date etc and time. If your chosen place is full then it will show you an alternative.

If you also listen to episode 18 of the Disney Brit Podacst we do one of these bookings live on the show :)

    Cheers
    Craig

Is anyone able to advise in relation to Alamo car hire?

As part of my holiday deal I received a good rate on hiring a car from Alamo, I was also given their Gold Hire Package. I am wondering if they will attempt to sell me further insurance at the airport as Thomson state this will not happen!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Having been to Florida a number of time I think I can give you some advise. The Gold insurance is a good thing to have if you have more than one driver, as they are added to the insurance with no extra charge unlike the silver package. You also get a full tank of petrol when you pick the car up but remember to take it back nearly empty. If I'm not mistaken they are also giving you a satnav in this deal that is good if you haven't been before.

If you decide to try any other car hire companys I can recommend uscarhire.com I have used them before & so has my son who was only 21 at the time of booking the total cost for him being a young driver only cost him £240 for two weeks for the economy size car, he although he did not have the platinum cover (gold) that is extremly cheap for a 21yr old. & its even cheaper for drivers over 25.

The prob with le Cellier is a) is the best restaurant on property and b) its small

You really need to log on at 7 am on your 90 day window to get in.

Good luck! Its well worth it if you can!

If you can get from Tampa to Orlando in 30 minutes you must own the Batmobile or be superman.
