Im wondering if there are any experts on this resort as we've been looking to book up and want to know what the difference is between the french quarters and the riverside if anyone could help
many thanks in advance
One of the main difference is size. Karen has as usual given excellent advice and also the web site all about the Port Orleans is really worth a look.
The riversude was a re brand of the old Dixie Landings resort and I preferred and still prefer the FQ side as its smaller and more compact. But really they are prob my fav moderates so either is fine, but use the https://www.portorleans.org website for info

I think maybe the first 2 weeks in NOV, do you know how the weather is then, would stll want it to be warm.
There are lots to say between the two really......
Remember in a hotel you will probably all be in one room so when the kids go to bed its the balcony for you
In a villa of course lots of room etc and you can do all you want etc.
Now when we stay in a hotel the kids are funny with the pool as there are always lots of people in it splashing and messing around etc which I love the hussle but they are used to having the villa pool and no one to get in their way...

Don't forget that villas can be quite a drive to the parks and you'll have to pay parking at about $12 per day.0

Does anyone know of any better deals on the following tickets:
Disney 3 Day Base, 14 Day Expiration FREE upgrade to 5 day ticket -£137 park-tickets.com
Universal and Islands of Adventure 2 day ticket -£64 park-tickets.com
Seaworld+busch gardens(adults for child price) £58 seaworld.com
Can anybody recommend anywhere cheaper to get these?0 -
For "Universal and Islands of Adventure 2 day ticket -£64 park-tickets.com" you might want to go to the universal site where a 7 day pass costs $99.0
-
Thanks Giovanni, slightly dearer, £2 but perhaps worth it. although for 6 of us that is an extra £12 for days we will probably not use. Have to way it up. Thanks for your help!
Its the Disney ones that I would really like to find a bit cheaper!0 -
Yep, the Disney tickets are really expensive and once your party reaches 4 it really starts to add up.0

Received an email from Disney today with this offer - save up to 42% - don't know if this is of interest to anyone, or indeed, if you all know about it already
, here's the link:
http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/DisneyWorldOffer/
And the small print starts:
"Both promotions are available for bookings made 1 Apr to 15 Jul 2009 for hotel stays between 2 Aug and 17 Dec 2009 and are subject to room and flight availability and apply to new bookings only. ..."
Hope this is of use to someone!0 -
CHEAPEST WAY TO BUY PARK TICKETS IN US$ IN RESORT........and other questions!!!!!
Hi again.
Thanks for the replies with regards to car hire. I will pursue te various comparison sites and will report back on the best prices inclusive of all insurance.
Next please - does anyone have advice on the best place to buy multiple entry park tickets (both Disney and Flexi) in the resort area? We have US$ to spend so would like to pay for them in cash. We bought them from a ticket seller on the 192 nearly 10 years ago and these proved the cheapest then but I imagine a lot has changed since 99.
Can you get a flexi ticket for Universal/WetnWild/Sea Wild etc which is not consecutive usage - for 7 days for example? Howq about for the for Disney Parks?
Lastly please, do 8 year old need a booster seat in Florida.
Sorry for the questions but I'm fast remember just how much goes into organising a holiday to Orlando!
Thanks again for any repliesDigger:dance:0
