I like the tram tour in Paris...,

How does everyone stay in touch with each other in Orlando? Is it mobiles with new sims? What network?

There will be 1 adult and 2 kids, what other info do you need, I'm so overwhelmed by everything Im not sure what info you need.
I did type out a long winded reply and then had a power cut due to the storm we are having and lost the lot.
Basically there are three of you wanting to go in August.
I would suggest keep an eye out for a late deal--keep your nerve. The price for a scheduled flight will be the same now as in a months time whereas the Charter companies will drop in price. In your head, set the dates you wish to go but set yourself a 2/3 day gap either side and book 14 days out of 17/or so.
Just come on here later the date and someone will come up with something.. Booking a late eal with a charter company. If there is nothing charter wise book a scheduled flight and book your own hotel!

Please, please don't pick on the WEDway, I mean Tomorrowland Transit Authority, it's my favourite.

For me I'd cut: MK - Country Bear Jamboree and the Enchanted Tiki Room; Epcot - Journey into Imagination (just doesn't work, never has); Studios: Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous.

In Paris, I'd get rid of the ludicrous tram tour at the studios and the Aladdin alleyway thing.

But I LOVE the Enchanted Tiki Room!!!!!! And Journey Into Imagination!!! (and DD loves Figment!)

Hi thanks for the reply and sorry you typed it all and then had a power cut..Bummer!
We actually wanted to go in November me and my 2 girls, but when I saw that deal in August I was wondering whether it would be worth changing and going on that one because it seemed a lot cheaper.

Hi Guys, quick update on the Tollbooth fine. (It is a bit complicated as the letter went to my brother and the hire paperwork is with my mum - we went as 3 families)
    • It is the hire car company that is chasing the fine
    • The fine was for AIRPORT tollbooth
    • The reg that they provided is 1 digit different to the reg paperwork we have for my brother's car
    • My brother was at Island of Adventure at the time of the fine
    • It isn't for the car I was in, so although I may have been on the road at the time of the fine, it wasn't me (we got vehicles through 2 different companies - Charter Travel )
It looks like the hire company have made a mistake at their end and are chasing the wrong people for the fine. My brother has emailed them to dispute it - although the scan of the paperwork doesn't come out too well.

The moral of the story is keep hold of your paperwork for a few months afterwards in case you get any unexpected surprises.

Hello everybody! I can't believe I've done this! Never, ever have I posted a thread on a website before!!! So if I've done something wrong, apologies!! Don't really know what I'm doing!! Eeekk! But as I've been reading this forum it's obvious you all have such a vast amount of knowledge/advice I felt I had to ask for help because I'm starting to panic! My husband & I have been to Walt Disney World a few times before the Darling Daughter was born, but we've never stayed in resort. DD is now 6 so I've booked us a holiday at the end of Oct this year staying 5 days in Disney's Key West Resort & 5 days in Disney's Saratoga Springs, but I really wish I'd found you guys earlier, as I could have got some inside info on the resorts, incase I've made a rubbish choice! I've got the dining plan (found it so much easier when we went to Disneyland Paris last year) Now it's all down to me to put some sort of itinery together, DH will go/do whatever/wherever us girls say, ha! Anything for a quiet life! So I'm starting to feel pressure to book restaurants etc and I really want to make the DD's first trip to The Big One a memorable one! (been brainwashing her about Mickey etc. since she was born!) I resent ringing WDW Experts on a 0870 phone number, so can anyone please give any advice/info on our resorts? Any advice/info on where to eat? (with over 200+ restaurants how do you choose??) DD loved The Golden Nugget last year where the characters came out to meet you!! Any advice/tips which Kingdoms to do first/last? Arghhhh! I don't know where to start!! Any help will be very much appreciated!!! Thankyou!!!

You may want to buy a book like this ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Unofficial-Guide-Disney-World-Guides/dp/0470460261 ) It'll tell you everything you need. It's very useful.

I'm a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member and my home resort is Old Key West, so feel free to ask away. So far I've spent almost a year in total staying there. I personally wouldn't have split my time between the two resorts as they are next door to each other and you may have been better placed staying all the time at one or the other, or splitting your time with a resort further away (such as at the beach). What type of accommodation did you book?

Old Key West is a large, sprawling resort and so is Saratoga Springs (known to DVCers as OKW and SS). With a youngster, I'd personally ask for a room in the Turtle Pond area at OKW, as it has its own swimming pool, snack bar and tennis courts, however it isn't close to Hospitality House (the main complex with check in, Olivia's Restaurant, the General Store and other facilities). OKW only has one restaurant, but there's a free riverboat shuttle (and bus but the boat's nicer) to Downtown Disney where you can eat in any of the restaurants.

All the rooms in OKW have a fridge and some form of cooking equipment (microwaves in the studios, proper stoves in the larger accommodations), so we tend to get a food shop on our first night there and have breakfast and snacks in our room. There's a Winn Dixie in Lake Buena Vista that's easy to get to and stock up, front desk will be able to give you directions. Alternatively the more expensive local supermarket Goodings is at the Crossroads shopping center opposite the Hotel Plaza Blvd entrance to WDW.

OKW is the oldest DVC resort and was built in 1991 for opening in 1992. SS is a relatively new resort. OKW is however regularly refurbished to keep the accommodations up to date and you may notice the rolling refurb programme while you are there. The rooms at OKW are larger and a more unusual shape than those at SS.

I love OKW and I hope your family do too. Please feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions about the resort.

That's the thing about Disney, very subjective. What would you cut?
