Can anyone tell me here roughly what a taxi would cost from Sanford International Airport to International Drive for a family of 5 (3 adults, 2 children)?

I'm trying to work out the price to see if it's more worthwhile to rent a car.

It's always worthwhile to rent a car when holidaying in Florida.

If anyone on here advises you not to then ignore them since they don't know what they are talking about.

Thanks, i'm just having trouble finding one in which I could fit all my suitcases in lol.. With 5 of us we'd have at least 3/4 big ones, and then hand luggage!

For me Epcot is boring and probably more suited to Teens, but for young kids AK is brilliant.
If you do go to Epcot then avoid the Honey i Shrunk the Audience - The single biggest waste of time in the whole of Disney World. Absolute tosh.

    Hi sturll,

Out of interest, have you tried Epcot since it re-themed Living with the Seas to introduce Nemo and friends? Turtle Talk with Crush is a must do with young children (actually its a must do as adults with no children, even though its a kid's attraction, it really is that clever). The new KimPossible attraction around World Showcase Lagoon is also popular for kids of about 5 up and there are different missions to complete.

I'm not a big fan of Honey I Shrunk the Audience either, but equally I hope they don't dig Captain EO out of the vaults to ride the wave of Jackson-mania.

My favourite ride at MK was closed years ago .... the Captain Nemo, 20000 leagues under the sea thing - anyone else remember it? Went on it on my first visit in 1988 - was gutted to find it gone the next time we went.

When 20000 Leagues was shut down, you could buy parts of the ride in the Disney memorabilia stores and I think at the Disneyana Convention. We did look long and hard at buying ourselves a porthole and setting it into something at home, they weren't very expensive, but heck they weighed a ton. The shipping came to something like 10 times the price of the porthole! Shame, it would have been a fun talking point.

My daughters (now aged 13 & 10) can't wait to do the Kim Possible thing. Maybe they are a bit strange, but Epcot is their favourite park (and has been for 5 years or so). I highly recommend for younger visitors the Kid Cot Fun Stops where they get a little mask and go to each country around the World Showcase to collect little trinkets and add them to the mask. The Cast members from each country talk to them, write their name in different languages - awesome and all free! My DDs also like the Epcot Kids Passports (I think $10 or so) which have stickers, and the castmembers write in them in their own language. It sounds a bit naff but my girls love that!

I echo your comments 100% about Captain EO :eek: which was dire :eek:

Yeah we loved the Nemo ride, especially the aquariam, didn't really have time for the Kimpossible. Loved Test track and soarin, but really that was it. And for young kids really there was only nemo.

Does anyone have any good info on the most cost effective way of using mobiles in america? I do want to take mine with me, but not sure if I need to get an American sim card or not, and if so, where from..

Is it the same there as it is there.. so I could just buy a pay as you go sim card from a shop and top it up?

    Thanks

Just thought I'd comment on the fact that I love Honey I Shrunk the Audience - it's interactive ;)

Buy a tracfone from Walmarts $20/$30! I think that will be the cheapest way to go. And make sure that Walmarts activate the phone.
