Its actually the fairfield in lake buena vista I was referring to mate! But thanks for the advice about the taxi situation as I will be taking a few taxi's to city walk from international drive the first week!

Mears transport operate shared shuttles from certain resorts to attractions/shops etc. They can also arrange private transfers, I found them reasonable and reliable.

Am in Florida at the moment and due to hand hire car back the day before we leave. First time and was unsure about picking up and driving at 6am after a long flight, The dollar deal seems a good one, cheapest I can find on netflights is £24. Am I missing something?

Am due to go to Orlando 1st May. Have accom and flights , need to sort car hire for 2 adults and 4 children. wondering about getting 2 small cars or a people carrier. Any opinions? And where best to hire from? Should I get the full package or is CDW enough?
Last time we went was 9 days after 9/11, booked prior on a deal that was £89 per person and we had only 1 child to pay for and 1 infant.
Different this time as we now have 4 children 2x3yrs, 9yrs and 14yrs. Can't believe how much park entry will cost... I think I am looking at at least £1000 for a few days worth.
Any advice on best tickets to get.
We like Epcot, we are staying at the Fountains and then a week at Orange Lake which has its own lazy river etc so may not need to go to water park as well.
I think my 9yr old would like things related to disney movies, I seem to remember Universal is more for older ones.?
I don't think we want to park hop in 1 day, too stressful with 4 kids.
Should I wait until we get there or pick a deal here?
All help very gratefully received, I'm beginning to regret I ever thought this was a good idea, my mind is so boggled!!

I have used these for transfers and they are great http://www.quicksilver-tours.com/

I have also used Mears transport and they were ok too.

Quicksilver are OK yes but expensive. TIffany TOwn Cars https://www.tiffanytowncars.com have been going longer and are beer and cheaper. On a recent trip Quicksilver quoted 120 bucks and Tiffanys were 75 for the same service.

And tiffany even have a coupon on their site :)

Would anyone be able to advise how much it would cost to get a taxi from Orlando International Airport to International Drive? and is it as easy to pick one up there as anywhere else?
    Hi

As I just mentioned, I would go with Tiffany Town Cars and they have rates on their site. They meet you in baggage claim with a guy in a suit and tie and he takes your bags for you to a lovely nice Town Car (like a posh small limo) and drives you directly to your hotel/ The same chap will collect you and bring you back if you want.

But for a taxi, its a wee bit cheaper but its normally someone who has been in the country for two months LOL. Anyway you can get an idea of prices from the https://www.mearstransportation.com taxi fare calculator

    Cheers

Squoog- By the looks of it you are just one family, yes? Get a people carrier - I think all the parks charge for parking ($12/vehicle/day), so 2 cars would add $25/park to your costs, plus petrol. Also if you are both on the car if (god forbid) one of you gets ill, you aren't stuck with one small car for carrying people.
I was there 2 weeks ago and we got a big 8-seater van which had loads of room for 8 people and luggage, and was easy to drive. (Had some experience of driving transits before, but with big roads, big parking spaces and automatics I can't see anyone having a problem).

I know what you mean, but I don't go until October so have more time to research.
I have got lots of useful info from www.dibb.co.uk It is well worth registering on there and searching/asking on there as they all seem to have had loads of trips to Disney.

I have also ordered the Unofficial Guide to Disney from Amazon and there is a Florida map both of which ares recommended by those on the DIBB which are meant to be very comprehensive.

I am going to plan an itinery (well copy one from those on the DIBB)

    Best of luck

Vry good idea. There are some good people over on the Dibb who will help you no problem.

The unoffical guide to WDW is an excellent book. I know the co author, Len Testa quite well now and he is a legend. They use research and FACTS and have all the information you will need.

Also what I would really recomend is when you get the book you also get free access to https://www.touringplans.com which is a super website (you can also buy access for 9 buks a year)/ Anyway, you can print off super touring plans for your trips and I gurantee if you use one of those no matter what day you go to a park you will wait no more than 7 mins for any ride

    Have fun

    Happy planning.

As regards the unofficial guide - use the crowd calendar on the website, it was pretty good for us, we went to MK on a "5" day and barely queued for anything and did Hollywood Studios on a "9" day and most of the FP were sold out when we got there at 11, and never got to do Toy Story.

(If the family had stuck to my plan, we would have avoided the 9 days, but some people just never listen ;)

Holidays are about going away and chilling out, not some regimented routine.

Just get up, forget about the hangover - stick your arm out the aindow and decide whats happening.
