miniwinnie- that sounds like a great way to round off your trip and get back to the airport cheaply.:D

Balance 1st November '09 = mortgage paid off with £1903 left over. Title deeds are now ours.
  • Has anyone used this company? They've got some really good prices on apartments for October which are affordable for 2 people but just wanted to see if anyone had any feedback on them.

    Thanks

Going wasn't so much of a problem luggage wise - it was the return journey with the double the luggage that can be tricky. Nowhere allocated to put luggage on the bus but they didn't seem to mind you just stacking in the aisle. There always seems to be people with luggage so didn't look too out of place.
We now rent a car on the last day and do all the Ross & Marshalls stores in Orlando and the wal mart on the way back to the airport. You can collect from Dollar @ Holiday Inn on international drive for £20 and add a full tank of petrol for £7. Arrive at airport car hire return and take escalator to check inn. See Netflights if interested.

Am in Florida at the moment and due to hand hire car back the day before we leave. First time and was unsure about picking up and driving at 6am after a long flight, The dollar deal seems a good one, cheapest I can find on netflights is £24. Am I missing something?

Thanks for that. Ive narrowed my choice down to 3 hotels in Lake Buena Vista...

    Basic- Comfort inn £155

Medium level-- Country inn and suites £244.90

A bit more classy-- Fairfield inn £ 252.95

    Ahh decisons, decisons!!!

Anybody been to either the Country inn and suites and/or the fairfield inn?

    Hi,

stayed at the fairfield a few years back (I'm assuming you mean the one on Canada Avenue, near Universal?) - found them very helpful and the rooms were good and clean, although free breakfast was a little basic but we eat at Ponderosa/Perkins so wasnt a problem to us

Just down from Fairfield (also Canada Av) I'd recommend Hawthorn Suites, I found this had the slight edge over FF

TIP: if you stay at either and decide to get a taxi out to Citywalk at night, by all means let them order the taxi once, but then get a taxi back from the Cab Stand at CitiWalk and ask for a card so you can call them yourself (a lot cheaper)

Even had the hotel (FF I believe) try and make out the taxi hadnt arrived when we called it, but when we called them they hadnt arrived yet- the hotel were just trying to get us to use their taxi firm (which the staff take bribes from - I have witnessed this first hand!)

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

Be gentle with me plz! I usually book a package but have found that the swan/dolphin hotels in WDW do a fab teachers rate which means it could be much cheaper for me to book accom and flights separately.

Where is my best place to start looking for bargain direct flights for aug 2010? The only direct prices I can find are 2k plus for 2 adults 1 child.

    That's very interesting, thank you!

Would you not think about an indirect flight? We're trying it for the first time this year and it was a good deal cheaper. We're trying to look on it as an adventure rather than scary!

Would anyone be able to advise how much it would cost to get a taxi from Orlando International Airport to International Drive? and is it as easy to pick one up there as anywhere else?

My daughter is a pretty bad traveller, car sick, plan sick, bless her so I'd rather get it over in one go.

The teachers rate for this Aug is $129 per room per night (plus tax I think), I think its a great offer and am hoping they announc similar for next year.

I have used these for transfers and they are great http://www.quicksilver-tours.com/

I have also used Mears transport and they were ok too.
