Please can anyone recommend a nice place to eat a breakfast buffet (4 adults, 4 kids) and apporx cost near Oranage Tree, Clermont.
I was told either Sizzler or Ponerosa are 'reasonable value'.
    Thanks in advance.
  • Hi there

I am completely new to this so hope I am doing things in the right way.

I have been reading this thread with great interest and would like to say many thanks for all the great tips, links, opinions and debates on here. I have learned so much already. I am hoping that someone on here has the experience to help us decide the best trip for us to WDW this Summer.

This will be our first trip to Orlando with our almost four year old (last trip was many moons ago pre-Universal, AK, etc!). We previously stayed on I-Drive with a car, which was great for our needs at the time and would consider this option. We would however really like to make this trip as special as possible for our LO and are thinking of staying in a Disney location. Recognising the expense of doing so, we are a bit confused about what our best options might be.

Thank you for the tips about the best moderate Disney resorts. We are now seriously considering these. What I would like to know however if anyone can help, is what exactly can we expect in the way of "Disney Magic" by staying at one of the WDW resorts? What makes them so special? (I understand all about the dining plan, extra park hours, transport, etc.). The thing is we have been quoted approx. same price for the 5* Disney Swan/Dolphin (although not owned/operated by Disney, apart from dining plan and room charging, it does offer the same "visible" benefits and appears to have a great location). We would obviously expect the atmosphere to be a bit different at this hotel but would we be missing out on something special by choosing this over a Disney owned property (we are looking for the best experience for our £££ basically?)

Also, a quick (I promise) question about dining when staying in the Disney area - I am horrified by the idea that I might have to choose months in advance when/where we are going to eat every day - do you really have to plan and make reservations for every meal in advance?

Sorry my first post is such a long one. Thank you so much if you have read this far! Any comments or advice would be hugely appreciated.

    Many thanks

  • My OH has 9 points showing on his licence (3 are from Sep 2004 so don't count in UK court I believe).

Question is will he be allowed to hire a car in Aug 09 in Orlando or will I end up doing all the driving.
  • I have another random question!! LOL

Is it true that when you fly to Orlando you go over NY and can see the statue of liberty ?

I've been told this and am really excited at seeing it but I've never heard anyone else mention it and I would have thought they would have - I certainly would !!
:D I understand ALOT more than I care to let on :D

    Hi Blink
I started a reply to you on this yesterday mate but got waylayed.

Rather than Daytona if you are Disney what about the Disney Petty experience by MK.

I know that now they even have the 1 + 1 F1 Car (well indy car) where you sit behind the driver and he canes it around the track, there is even a version where you get the drive the car yourself and cane it around the track or into a wall LOL.

Cheers for that, although it might be nice to send him and his family to Daytona for the day to spend time on the beach etc (also means we would get quiet time in the villa :T )

I've been a different ways evry time i've been  (varying by being further inland/out to sea when flying down the coast).

On one occasion (in 1988) i saw the Statue of Liberty from the plane, but not again since -

Daytona International Speedway is a great day out, even if you're not doing the ride along/driving thing.

A guy at work reckons Disney discount their tickets a couple of times a year - anyone got any info on when that's likely to be, and if it's only from the Disney website?

    TIA as usual:D
