  • Hi,

I think if you have the money then why not go for it! The flexi ticket is great, but i was in Orlando for a week in August and by the end we had already done all the parks, and our favourite twice (Wet n Wild). So i would definitely buy them both...

However, if you can only get one i would go for the FlexiTicket as that has better parks for adults IMO.

Thank you will certainly look into it and see how much it will cost for both, as we want to make the most of the holiday.

    Hi all

I know I'm being a numpty, but I've been looking for cheap flights to Orlando and I've found some for £320 each which I think is a bargain. The thing is, they stop in Philadelphia (even though they are listed as non-stop:confused: ) and it looks like we change terminals.

We're having to change in Philadelphia as well although our flights are about twice the price but that's flying from Glasgow for you:rolleyes: I had the option of allowing more time between flights which I took just in case we're late...not so bothered about missing a flight on the way back, it's the way there I'm bothered about:D

We've never flown direct, and (as far as I remember), you go through passport control where you first land, but your bags goes through automatically. Never had any problems.

Whenever I've flown indirect, we've always had to clear immigration, then collect bags and clear customs and recheck bags before getting on the final flight.

It sounds worse than it is, but it's really no hassle. Just takes a bit longer to get there :)

On the way home, my bags have always gone through automatically to my final destination, but I'm sure that doesn't happen on the way out as you have to clear immigration / customs on your "first port of entry" to the US.

Exactly the same here Karen. The airport you arrive in teh US at is your "entry" and thats where you need to clear customs etc

  • So you need to collect your bags and check them in again on your way there but not on the way back?

Having read through the thread, I have a couple of questions. We are staying at the Quality Inn Plaza and I have read that some of the rooms are noisy can anyone recommend quite rooms. Also we are going for 14 days is it worth buying the Disney ultimate 14 day ticket as well as the FlexiTicket as we are divided on where we want to go. Three adults in total (2 are kids at heart).
    Any advice gratefully recieved.
    Thanks

I've stayed there on about 3 or 4 occassions. It can be a little noisy, but you'll be unlucky to end up with a room that faces the I4. I guess you get used to it. Ask for the room to be pool facing when you check-in.

Can you say Hi to oscar the bartender in the Zebra sports bar for us when you go. He's a great guy.

If you have a car ignore the rest.

My only issue with QIP is that they charge a fortune for the disney shuttle. When I was last there in May 2007, it was $14 per person return which ends up expensive when you have a 21 day pass and spend 14 at disney for 4 people. If your planning on doing loads at Disney I would advise you to approach the shuttle bus company to ask them if they can give you a good price for travel. It bypasses guest services and ensures you get a good rate. Unfortunatelt Louis at town and country (bus company) is slow at doing most things and you have to keep pestering him to get your advanced tickets. Last time he bought them to me on arrival.

If you are doing disney and coming back reasonably early I would catch the lynx 8 and ask for a transfer and get off at seaworld where you can catch the 56 direct to disney, or alternativly catch the iride down to seaworld and the catch the 56. Its well cheap in comparison. Watch out for the taxi drivers who offer you the same rate as the bus as they often ask you to pay the $12 to enter disney (they don't tell you that when you get picked up)

Another alternative is a non-advertised bus that stops outside the hotel. Its a real smart bus and goes direct to disney. You'll pay somewhere between the $2 for the lynx and the $14 for the hotel shuttle.

No you don't have to and would be advised not to.

Unless you have a car - then simply re check them and then go sort the car at the other end. (Bag collect B for Virgin if i recall?)

Genrally when flying to the US if you change flight you have to get them before your connection. But if your connection is outside the US - say AMS - then you will have through checked your bag to your final destination.
