i had to drop her off at Downtown Disney, where she had to get a bus to a Disney Hotel, then change, then continue on to Animal Kingdom.

Hi Craig
Just interested to know what it is you don't like about CSR? It's one we would like to stay at in future but may not if you recommend against it. Is it the conventioneers that put you off or something different?
TIA
Karen
Hi karen
I did not meant to put you off - sorry. I did not like it, well actually none of us liked it for a few reasons. I think the main one being the theming, its just does not seem as complete or as precise as the other resorts. Is it trying to be Mexican, well I think even he Santa Fe in DLP does that better, is it south western US? Just did nto seen right.
Also I think its location is a bit of a late add on. When you consider where the other mods are located and the excellent position of the PO then its kinda, why pick it?
Also it flet huge, I do not know how many rooms it had but it must be like 2000 odd.
What I woudl do if you have the chance to do to the world before you have to decide is go along and take a look, its quite near the Sherbeth road way in.
If I seriously had the choice between it and say Pop Id take Pop.

btw on dropping off at the parks, I am sure you all know you do not have to pay to park if youa re just dropping off, so you just tell the casy member at the gate and they let you through and send you down a special drop off lane.

Thanks for that Jackieblack - I'm going for a fortnight room only so i'm thinking my £1400 may be a bit short if we wanna buy stuff etc out there? We are staying at Quality inn international right next to giant Mcd's apparently so hoping transport is ok from there. My little boy is tall and looks quite a bit older so might be worth me taking him some i.d, would i pick up coupon books etc once i get there? x0

You can usually pick up coupon books in the hotels or supermarkets.
I've never stayed on I Drive and don't know the top end as well as the other end but according to your hotel's website (http://www.orlandoqualityinn.com/location.htm#) you should be able to use the i-ride trolley bus (http://www.iridetrolley.com- you can get a 14 day pass for $17 each) to travel I drive, or I know there are local buses (http://www.golynx.com/?id=3) but I've never used them.
£1400 is just under $2000 at current exchange rates - I'd say you should be fine as long as you don't go mad shopping!2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Nooo, don't worry about putting me off! I'm interested in your views as it's always nice to hear from someone who's stayed in the other Mods. It's funny with CSR - people seem to love it or hate it.
I know what you mean about the themeing (though I've never been in, when we stayed at ASMo & AsMu we drove past it many times) but it does look lovely on the WDW DVD, they'd hardly make it look otherwise! I read somewhere that it looks like a country club in Arizonawhich I guess isn't quite the vibe Disney were aiming for...
I'll park that one for a bit again I think.
Thanks again!0 -
sturll: dont worry- i havent posted your pic anywhere, i just meant 'post' on here to tell you :-)
Re spending money, im getting a bit worried now reading some of the posts above, i will only have about a grand (pounds) for just myself and a 7yr old SC. I wont be goping out at night or anything (out out but will go to downtown disney or just to get dinner but not in pubs / clubs - unfortunately!! LOL)
Disney tix are already bought - should I be aiming for more ?
Can you tell ive never been!!! LOLI understand ALOT more than I care to let on

why did you HAVE to take her to downtown disney for her to catch a bus to a hotel to then get to animal kingdom? because you didnt want to pay a fee to take her to animal kingdom? that was your choice, nothing to do with disneys buses.
sometimes its not what is said its how its said.
So not to pay $12 parking.
Give me your number and next time ill phone you and check its ok before i do something like that again.0
