Sturll gives advice and his opinion based on being a regular traveller to Florida. I'm sure this advice is very helpful to a lot of MSE'ers.

It is his opinion, and just because you happen to disagree with it, that doesn't make him wrong!

Anyone can give their opinion without resorting to insulting users by calling them morons and quite frankly for him to call someone else opinionated is calling the kettle black. Just because he has his opinion doesn't make him right either and its not the first time he has been extremely rude in this thread.

As to the original question, then yes if they are staying in LBV then they can manage to do all the theme parks without a car in my opinion.

Hi - I'm off to Port Orleans FQ on 9/8/09 for 16 nights - great deal with free DDP and tickets included - yeah!!!! :j

I am now planning ahead and thinking about DDP reservations and know I will have to book promptly 90 days ahead. BUT.... I cant find a busy day guide that far ahead - Can anyone point me in the right direction? :D

We really want to go to the parks on 'light' days.

    Thanks in advance

I stayed in PORS last june and also had a wander around FQ, if you have never been check out my trip reports

There great to get into the mood of Orlando as i have put in heaps of photos and hopefully some people can take some ideas away with them,, that was our (me and fiance) 3rd trip together, my 8th so well clued up,, most we have spent on a holiday too, probaly why im on these boards now,,

Hope you get your ADRs sorted for the DDP, we really want the free DDP next trip, even if we took the DDP last time i think we would have saved money even paying for it.
May'09 - Won tickets to Night at the Museum 2 June'09 - Electric Dreams DVD
  • hi, sorry for starting a fight! I have that effect in real life too! LOL

Just wanted to say thanks, I have appreciated everybodys opinion - i honestly have, theyve all given me something to think about.

I am staying at the sheraton safari ??? Other than its in BV I have no idea re the location but it does have disney transport.

Re the spends, the £1000 does not include the disney ultimate tix - ive already bought those - am i still a bit short ?

    Thank you
:D I understand ALOT more than I care to let on :D
  • BTW Sturll, your 2 little ones look uncannily like my neice and nephew! so much so had to post it!

  • Oh well you are set up for Disney transport at the Sheraton, we have used it many times. They have fairly good times for going back and forth and in peak times one of the latest returns from MK. If its still the same driver the night time one is a real blether, tip him a couple of dollars each day and he will be more than helpful. I'm sure there is a list somewhere of the times of departures if I find it I'll post a link.

They also have free transport to LBV shopping mall and I think to Seaworld but you need to pay for that. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area and perfectly safe to walk around. Nice pool too :)

Which is what has been said all along.

But lets not let that get in the way of my weekly chastisement by you.

I have stayed at all three hotels and frankly if I never went back to the Colorado springs I would be OK. CBR is nice but PO is by far the best moderate resort they do. I prefer riverside by FQ is smaller and may be better for you with kids etc.

    Hi Craig

Just interested to know what it is you don't like about CSR? It's one we would like to stay at in future but may not if you recommend against it. Is it the conventioneers that put you off or something different?

    TIA

Dining plan for free Sept ?? !!! who what when where ?
Good point re riverboat hate to be thrown overboard.
Another question because you guys know so much. :A Any tips for a place to relax over a cold beer  or chilled wine. Not looking at partying all night at pleasure island (It that still there?) but do enjoy the odd tipple to wind down on a warm holiday evening
(Can you tell Ive just discovered the icons!!!)

Dining plan tends to be free for all visitors at certain times of year and over the last couple of years it has started from mid August onwards for UK visitors who booked with most (all?) tour operators. I am almost sure you have missed the boat for this year though, I am sorry to say.

Hmmmm I have LOTS of ideas for a cold beer and or a chilled wine. There are loads of lovely bars all over Disney World (they are everywhere except for Magic Kingdom).

My personal favourites include: Victoria Falls Lounge at Animal Kingdom Lodge for its ambience and people watching possibilities (oh and you can have a good look at the savanna too if you fancy that?), Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian (warning: it's very busy here with folks queueing for 'Ohana and has Polynesian entertainment which may or may not be your thing. I visit purely to drink a Lapu Lapu which is a cocktail that tastes like rocket fuel served in a pineapple!). Any of the drinking spots on the Boardwalk because I love it there, and loads more but there's a few to get you started - I expect others will chip in?

Oh the lounge at POFQ is OK too (I think it's called Scat's Cat Lounge)
