Hi there
I've stayed at Port Orleans and Caribbean Beach and of the two I would suggest Port Orleans, probably French Quarter as it is smaller and thus easier to get around if you are less mobile. The only snag then is that French Quarter doesn't have a "sit down" restaurant, just a food court. All being equal though this may suit you better?
I think you have missed the chance to get the dining plan for free for this year unfortunately - September would have been one of the times you could have got it free.
I think I would agree that Pop & All Stars may suit you less well though I do love them myself, on a child free holiday if your budget allows the Port Orleans French Quarter would get my vote (ask for a room near the main section).
The boat to DTD is a definite bonus. I can't remember though if you can go on them with an ECV? I can't recall that I saw anyone with one on them, so please do check that out further.
I am with Karen
I have stayed at all three hotels and frankly if I never went back to the Colorado springs I would be OK. CBR is nice but PO is by far the best moderate resort they do. I prefer riverside by FQ is smaller and may be better for you with kids etc.
Another option would be maybe to rent someones Vacation Club villas like Saratoga Springs. Take a look at https://www.dvcrentals.com its a great way of seeing other resorts you would not normally get to stay in.

Yes you will get 15 if you have 15 nights
Getting to Tusker House at Animal Kingdom is much easier for you than getting to the Animal Kingdom Lodge - there will be direct buses from your resort to Animal Kingdom every 15 minutes or so
Just one word of caution is that remember some restaurants like Californian Grill ro teh Yachtsman require TWO table service credits so you may want to say one one night and order a pizza as yo ushoudl really give one of those places a go.

Hi bisto44,
I agree that Port Orleans is by far the best moderate resort. We are Disney Vacation Club members, but whenever we go over and don't have enough points PO is our resort of choice. I've never seen an ECV on the boat either, but they definitely take wheelchairs, so worst case scenario you should be able to get one of those on.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Everytime i go.
Sod the tours get in the car, down the turnpike to the 41 West. Along there you have loads of places that do the airboat thing.
I always go to Gator Park where its about $15 per adult for the boat, zoo and croc wrestling.

Thanks for that - do you know of any of the tours that do NOT do the alligator/croc wrestling stuff? - it's really not our kind of thing. We wouldn't mind seeing them in the wild, but wouldprefer not to play pass the parcel with baby alligators, iyswim.

Well when you get to Gator Park its optional what you do. You can just do the tour if you'd prefer.0 -

The catch is they are not authorised ticket sellers of Disney or any other theme parks.
Cheap is only cheap if you get tickets that you can actually use.0 -
I have decided against Musikick now. I just tried to email them to ask a few questions about the tickets, and the email was kicked back, saying 'sorry, mail to that recipient is not accepted'.
Sorry to get eveyones hopes up
Edited to add: Does anyone know if Virgin Vouchers can be used against the purchase of park tickets?Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -

Re the tickets, should i just get them out there - we really do want to go to universal and the space centre and busch gardens, not bothered about miami or anything like that though.
Also what about spending money ? How much do you take ? Im aiming to take about thousand pounds for the fortnight, we are RO so will need to buy everything - does that sound OK - im not sure i can get anymore than that.
Thanks for all your help :-)
Hi where about in BV are you staying? To be honest sturll or whatever his name is, is too opinionated. I've been to orlando now on 6 seperate occassions and this may/june will be no different. You do not need a car!
A few facts.
The lynx (public transport) and irides are all fully air conditioned as well as every piece of transport (including car) that you can think of. The buses are regular. For example when I was on idrive, the last 56 (lynx) from disney (ttc) is at 9:48 pm if memory serves me right and hence if your at Disney you may want to use a hotel that has shuttles to and from the park as they tend to run much later.
My shuttle from the comfort inn in lake buena vista is 15 mins from disney. Its not much quicker in car. Ive stopped on idrive on many occassions and didn't drive there either. The tourist areas have loads of restaurants etc within walking distance of your hotel.
If you want to drive, then you can but don't consider it a necessity. In fact depending on what your doing it maye end up an extra expense that you didn't need.
As for excursions, I would advise you buy your tickets here as we tend to get a better rate. The flexticket plus will get you to universal, seaworld, aquatica, wet'n'wild, busch gardens an unlimited amount of times for 2 weeks. The shuttle trip can be booked seperately too. You may want to do that bit over there.
As for disney your better off buying a ultimate ticket over here. You didnt mention disney but your in lake buena vista which is on the doorstep.
£1000 should be OK for 2 weeks. You'll have to watch what you spend. If your £1000 is to include tickets then your going to have a tough time.
