We watched some people doing this when we were there last year - looked like alot of fun - if you like highspeed/thrill type stuff!

Hi, Am going to see the mouse for the first time this year. We are due to arrive on 2nd July and I was wondering whether there were any suggestiosn for which park is the best for 4th July? We have got tickets for almost all of the parks, WDW etc, US/IOA, SW etc etc but I am not sure which would be the best for experiencing the 4th July in? Have two DD's aged 9 so don't want them to be too overwhelmed right at the beginning of the holiday!
Also, what is the best way to take our money over there? Is it better to take it all in cash or would you suggest we take travellers cheques/credit cards etc? Am planning to take approx £2500 for 23 days really only to cover food and shopping. We have a couple of kids eat free cards - anyone have any experience of using them? Were they ok? Was the choice of eateries any good?
There are so many good tips on here I know our holiday will be fantastic!:j
Thanks,
Jody0 -

The best suggestion i could offer would be to grab a coffee and start on page 1 of this thread and have a good look through it. You will find the majority of your questions (particularly money) will have been answered, discussed and improved upon.0 -

Everywhere will be busy on 4th July, but I've always understood that, at WDW, when everywhere is busy you should go to EPCOT, because it's the biggest size wise so there's more space to accomodate the huge numbers and so feels least crowded.
 On the other hand.... if everyone goes to EPCOT because they think it will be least crowded........2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

im off to florida 1st 2 weeks in june. My sister lives in panama city and im going to be spending time there but im flying into orlando (about a 6hour drive), my plan is to take a few days having a road trip, i looked at travelling up the west coast (gulf) but there doesnt seem to much there, so was thinking of driving up through daytona beach, st augustine, upto jacksonville and then head east to Tallahassee and onto panama city. Ive been to daytona beach many years ago and from what i remember it wasnt much to look at.
Has anyone travelled this route, and if so, can they recommend any nice little towns that would be worth stopping off for a night at.0 -

We went to Seaworld for 4th July. The special fireworks are on for a few days after the 4th so you won't miss out on any by going to MK or Epcot the following day. Travellers cheques are taken everywhere so I usually have enough cash to do the first day or so then use tc and cc after that.0 -
Genrally when flying to the US if you change flight you have to get them before your connection. But if your connection is outside the US - say AMS - then you will have through checked your bag to your final destination.
I think Sturll may be right, apologies Pumpkin.
(And it means a group of 8 of us are having to transfer luggage at JFK0 -
I am planning on taking some cash for when we first get there, a bit in US travellers cheques (because I've been told they are pretty much taken as cash in a lot of shops), and then the majority of it I am planning on leaving in my Nationwide account and using cash machines once I get over there.
Regarding Travellers Cheques, I've never had a problem paying with them in shops/restaurants/ticket booths etc (you may be asked for ID, but often I wasn't) and, yes, they are treated just like cash (they give you any change back in cash too).2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

The only thing to watch for is the denomination. Its a bit like over here, if someone hands you a £50 note, you probably ask them if they have anything smaller. The same over there. If your breakfast comes to $10, giving a $50 travellers cheque is sometimes frowned upon.
My wife likes me to get as many $20 as I can, rather than $50.
