Thanks for your reply, I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just asking if anyone had been there at that time. It says in my guidebook to expect around 135,000 extra people, I think Universal cover it too, so I was asking what actual difference to the numbers it made.
Please dont anyone try and 'twist' the question that I have asked, it was just a bit of information that I was asking for.

I watched an amazing film the other day called Milk. I wont patronise you im sure you know the story of Harvey Milk. The man was an amazing human being and i felt sorrow that he met such a tragic end. The film was great, the acting as good as i have ever seen. Asked about what i thought i responded "It was a bit gay" Let me explain, i got that Harvey Milk was Gay, i got the whole gay rights thing and stand firmly behind it. I agree that there should be equality for all.
My issue was that it was too much "look we are gay" and that i think is a general feeling these days. Like someone else has said; so what if you are gay, do you want special recognition? No you are just like the rest of us in that you are human. Your sexual preference is your own choice and one that these days bothers no one.
Just get on with it. I mean, there are 365 days in a year and Disney is open every one of them. Go any day you want and hold hands with your partner and feel proud. Dont discriminate against yourself by going only on 'gay days' and making a big deal of it.

If you fly after the 27th August expect to save about 40% from the previous week.
Look through this thread for loads of tips and info.
Dont bother making a plan since many times it weather specific.0 -

And we booked a villa for £555 for the 9 days from https://www.villarenters.com.
(The flights price was for 1 adult and 2 children)Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -
I seem to have paid a lot more than most for my flights(from Manchester).
When I looked the cheapest flights I was finding were about £500 each but most of the cheaper ones involved changing at Gatwick or somwhere in US which we didnt really want. Could do without adding several hours to my flights.
We ended up paying £2800 for two adults, two children. But given that the kids are 14 and 11 I expect they didnt get classed as two kids.
I notice a few people have car hire in the package. We were offered "free" car hire last time went, but when you look at the small print there are al kinds of surcharges you need to pay before you get the car. The girl on the phone even admitted it was pretty worthless really.
We ended up hiring a car ourselves from another company. Made a big difference because the queue at the "free" car hire desk was huge. We just walked straight up to our desk and were away in minutes.0 -

Hi and welcome
There is lots of good stuff here already and I know its a pain looking back over threads but the search tool is good and it will give you a start.
As Strull says, if you are able to take the kids out of school for a week then it will be much cheaper. Our school permits 10 days a year out of term time.
For flights, BA and virgin fly direct to Orlando from London. BA also flys into Tampa which is not much further and a bit easier. You can compare all on https://www.kayak.co.uk
Villas, you can try https://www.lastminutevillas.net and for tickets try Complete Orlandom https://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk or search on here.
Car hire, they two best are https://www.usrentacar.com or https://www.yescarhire.com

I'm going to Florida in 14 weeks. The question I have is should I get the tickets just now, or wait until nearer the time. Do the prices change or will they stay the same for the summer.
I was going to get them from Attraction Tickets or Virgin - any other ideas?
Many thanks
Disney alter their main gate prices at ten dof July. I think the UK tickets (which are different) have just risen, so depends on where you want to buy. I presume UK then all that might happen is the exchange rate may force Disneyt o change the price again
