Thanks KarenG and Disneycjd, will let my Mum know tomorrow- she has gone to bed already!- then report back tomorrow with how it pans out...
thanks again...0 -
Just wondeful, one more thing!
I won't say which hotels are my favourite as it is your mum's special trip and she needs to choose what she wants (though personally I agree with Craig 100% in his recommendations) BUT I would urge you to consider finishing your holiday at the nicer of the two that you stay at, for two reasons:
1. It's going to be a slight come down to go from the Grand Floridian with its fabulous opulence and excellent location to any of the Moderates (Caribbean Beach etc), no matter how nice they are
2. When you arrive on your first night, you may get there lateish and be tired (most UK flights get in late afternoon) and not want to get up to much, so this could be a slight "waste" of one of the five nights at the nicer hotel.
Enjoy, you'll have a fantastic time.0 -

Nice one Karen, very good idea
I second that. Do the moderate one first and save the GF for a blow out at the end
If she really fancies a treat then book the Chefs table at the GF Victoria and Albert within the hotel. Truly awesome and I really mean that,Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

Now that is one thing I haven't yet managed to do and I would love to! Really really would love to!
If you have children with you I don't think they are allowed into V&As BUT you can absolutely book them into one of the Kids Clubs at either the GF or the Poly (the resort next door). They take ages 4-12 and I highly recommend themMy kids recommend them even more  which is what counts

Yeah I had thought about doing it the other way around, and will definitely re-iterate it to my Mum, as i hadn't even thought about the first night- i will definitely mention it.
Her birthday is the 23rd March and we are thinking of going 11th-25th, so would actually make sense to go to the GF last..
Thanks again!0 -
I do think the deluxe resorts are something very very special. There is something magical in staying in a hotel that Walt placed and wanted right where it was. Also theyse hotels are in prime position and you can walk to their hosts parks. The other thing you will notice about them is that their theming is spot on, they have everything right at these places from the music to the rooms amenities.
If anyone has been lucky to stay in any they will all have their favorites, For me they all have great benefits. For example staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and watching the aninmals walk past from your balcony, or havign a day on the ebach at the yacht or beach club etc. So cool.
Also for those with young kids staying ona monorail resport will obvisouly mnake life easier for you.... you can have a daty in the MK and Dad can stay with the older kids and Mum return back on teh monorail to the hotel for a nap and then returna dn meet then later.
But alas these hotels are very expensive but if you really do ever ge the chance you shoudl do it, or even if you cant afford to saty there, there is nothing stopping you from havign a look around them.

Hi guys
Would be really greatful if anyone could give me some quick advice (booking this afternoon) on the cheapest way to incorporate the following theme park tickets in to a 14 day holiday:- Universal's Islands of Adventure
- Univeral Studios
- Busch Gardens
- Magic Kingdom
- Typhoon Lagoon
- Hollywood Studios
Please could you let me know if these two tickets are necessary (i.e. the cheapest way of doing it) and if they are good prices?
Thanks!!
Sounds like the best deal yes. you'll also be able to get into seaworld, epcot and animal kingdom with those tickets.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -

For all the park events go to www.disneyworld.com and then in the upper right corner you will see CALENDER click on that and then you can pick your park and month adn it will tell you whats on.
Cheers, I always find the Disney site a bit of a 'mare to navigate, tbh0
