I know we all have differing opinions. But to suggest someone goes to Oralndo in the Summer and saying this is the best time to go is wrong.

It is by far the worst time to go. It rains almost daily, the heat is unbearable and the parks are heaving with ride times being 70 mins +.

Orlando has year round sun. I have been in October and had 30 degrees, no rain and queue times being a max of 10 mins, i have also been in April and experianced pretty much the same.

I have just come back from there and there was one day of rain (i went to Miami and avoided it) and temp was between 25 - 30 daily. There were no queues at all and all the Christmas stuff were still up for the first week.

Despite all the above going at any other time of year rather than Summer/Christmas/Easter is often 200 - 400% cheaper.

I paid £3000 for flights for 5 people with Virgin, a Villa, a GMC Acadia and all tickets for Disney.
That would be impossible at any other time of the year.

Very much agree with you. Went the once in late July/August the heat was oppressive and the humidty awful.
Nowadays always try for March to May or late Sept Oct.
It really depends on how much heat you can take. Personally the rain in August was welcome until it stopped and then the humidty soared!!
But you should have a great time whenever you go.

This is what we thought, thats why we went in April last year and it was hot enough, it did rain but only for 20-30 mins once a day and for a couple of hours on 1 other day.

Although we were told that in the 2-3 weeks prior it rained nearly all day every day!!!

£3k a very good deal, can you break that down, ie: airline, car hire co etc please, ta

    Of course:

    Flights;

Manchester - Orlando International with Virgin Economy 1/01/09 - 15/01/09

    Car:

Booked with USrentacar who were a broker for Alamo. When i went to collect the car they offered me a car which was nasty, then one which was filthy, then eventually gave me the choice between a Hummer and an Acadia. Suffice to say i took the Acadia.

    Place:

Holidays Villas Poinciana Drive, Kissimme booked direct. Prices started several hundred dollars than the amount i ended up paying.

The way to a cheap holiday is simple, look, look and keep looking. Also, dont be afraid to phone direct and make a deal with the villa. Flights tend to be cheaper in the small hours of a the morning. Tuesdays always seem to be a safe bet - so say 2am Tuesday morning.
Naturally the time of year plays a huge part so stay away from hols and the preceeding weeks. Jan 1st is a great time to go or thereabouts. October is even better.
When collecting the car, politely say "I know what i have booked and dont wish for any upgrades or extra insurance" Then when you go to get your car dont be afraid to turn it down if you dont like it. Remember, they want return customers so if the car they bring is nasty and it is all they have they will invariably bring you an upgraded model.

Its not been cheeky its knowing what you want and trying to get it.

Will look for the flights, ta.

Thanks, we booked villa in advance last year and price was ok, but this time going to draw up list of 10-20 and keep eye on them and try and book one very last minute. Last year my Daughter was ill for 4 days so we extended our stay and actually got a villa out there on the day for 2/3 price as the one we prebooked!
Also saw a post somewhere that someone else done this ad got villa dirt cheap. It stands to reason that if you own a villa then surely any rent is better than none! Never heard of anyone not being able to find a villa on any given date!

Regarding the car we got an upgrade by tipping the valet $10! But will also bear your tips in mind, ta

if you mean tickets for disney or seaworld, they're cheaper with virgin at the mo. have a look on their website for prices, and do a straight comparison with disney's own website.

Each to their own Strull - thats whats good about these forumns

The summer is our favourite time, we have been in every month and its the best for us. Long sunny days, lovely hot weather and yes it rains (not every day) but after the 10 min shower the air is clear and the evenings wonderful.

October is nice, but the evenings can get to the 40s and the pool heat cna dissapear. There are pros and cons for each month but I would not giving a suggestion is wrong, its just a suggestion :)

I'll get me coat then :) Seriously, the one thing I do agree with Sturr and others is the cost. August is the mist expensive time to go but thats the supply and demand of 6 weeks school holidays. Many people cant help that as thats when they have to go, all i am saying is do not be put off buy Floruda because you are going in August.

    Cheers

    Thanks

I have had a look and am not sure

Am going to disney on birthday and when I do the kennedy centre I am going to try and book a full exprience day which virgin dont do

I am not that bothered about seaworld, I would like to go but it may be between that and the everglades

Only have 6 fulls days so will have to leave some stuff until next time

    I am thinking
    Disney once
    Kennedy centre
    everglades
    universal
Which leaves time for either seaworld or another disney place

I kind of would like to go to the magic kingdom for my birthday for my fireworks They all look so much fun

What would someone recommend for 2 30 year olds going withouth kids

I like gentle rides and wouldnt go on any roller coasters

Didnt there used to be a video you could get from disney to watch

Thanks for all the advice as I am feeling lost

I have ended up getting a car hire with extra insurance for peace of mind and though there is free transfers to some of the parks we will need it if we go to the everglades
