  • Hello helpful people! :T

A couple of questions re: our orlando trip (27th March)
    • does thomas cook premium economy have separate seat back tvs with choice of films rather than the tvs every couple of rows with only film that you can't see?!
    • if we are staying up towards the universal end of international drive rather than the disney end but will be spending more time at disney (don't ask- dippy husband booked it:rolleyes: ) should we really get a car rather than rely on buses? We will have small children with us.
    • has anyone stayed at the Orlando Metropolitain Resort since the deluxe bit was refurbed?
And thank you all for info about free birthday entry to disney would never have known about that and it is my daughter's 4th birthday while we are out there.
  • I love the birthday idea this year!!! Myself and my parner both have the same birthday April 22nd so will be going on that day for sure. :D

    Hi there

I will take the car or bus one...

I would say a car for sure. Whilst you can survive on buses if you have kids like us they will want to go when they want to go and not wait for buses. You can also take strollers (buggys) etc with you and have better access to the shops etc.

Its very very easy to drive over there

Its a cool idea. Remember you have three choices....

    1) free entry that day into the park
    2) or a 75 dollar gift card to spend THAT DAY ONLY
    3) or a free one day pass for any day in the future

Also if you are staying at a Disney hotel you can even get them to decorate your room ofr you (at a charge)

    Cheers

They're strict on it, aren't they?

We are going out partially for mine and my brothers birthdays, but as they are a month apart we are going for the 2 weeks in the middle, we fly a week after his birthday and get back a week before mine :(
(Or is it only kids anyway  )

I would say definitely, get a car. Tired children won't want to hang around waiting for buses, and if it only saves you 15 minutes at the beginning and end of each day, over a fortnight that adds up to 7 hours - or nearly a whole day of you holiday spent waiting for a bus!

I know we all have differing opinions. But to suggest someone goes to Oralndo in the Summer and saying this is the best time to go is wrong.

It is by far the worst time to go. It rains almost daily, the heat is unbearable and the parks are heaving with ride times being 70 mins +.

Orlando has year round sun. I have been in October and had 30 degrees, no rain and queue times being a max of 10 mins, i have also been in April and experianced pretty much the same.

I have just come back from there and there was one day of rain (i went to Miami and avoided it) and temp was between 25 - 30 daily. There were no queues at all and all the Christmas stuff were still up for the first week.

Despite all the above going at any other time of year rather than Summer/Christmas/Easter is often 200 - 400% cheaper.

I paid £3000 for flights for 5 people with Virgin, a Villa, a GMC Acadia and all tickets for Disney.
That would be impossible at any other time of the year.
