    Hi Karen

I recently bought a cheap one (not HD) and I was advised by teh good fellows over at https://www.avforums.co.uk to buy it here becuause of the recording system.

The US is NTSC and we use PAL and apparently only very posh TVs and DVD recoderders can take it.

So we got a Sony one from John Lewis and glad we did as it went wrong on holiday (they dont like being used in the pool :)) and John Lewis repalced it under gtee no problem.

    HTH a little

    Hello

We want to take our 2 children to Disney next year. We want to go the 1st week of april 2010 and stay for a week. Our two children will be 5 years old and 11 months old. I just wondered if anyone had any experiance in booking this type of holiday and where the best prices are to search for package holidays (Like all inclusive)

This is our 1st time away from home and also booking a holiday, and any help would be wonderful

many thanks for having the time to read my post

    No worries karen

When you get to Orlando pop into any shopping mall or any discount shop thing and you will find some magazines free ones that have maps and loads of vouchers in therm. They are nornmally for the cheaper style resturants but some of those are still pretty good.

Personal taste but I dont like golden carroll or the sizzler places but I know some do.

Also on Sunday buy a couple of the Orlando Sentinal. Its actually a good paper (I refuse to read anythign Enlgish when in the US) and in there will be lots and lots of vouchers like 4 bucks off Olive gardne etc.

    Cheers

    Hi becky

Not that its any of our business but any reason why you picked those dates? I would make sure Easter is nto around then or it will be busy. Also the US has spring break at end of March i think.

Actually I might compile a list of dates and weeks etc of whats on if ai get a mo.

I would take a look at some of the suite hotels of Marriotts with family rooms like the Resisdence Inn at LBV as somewhere to stay. The reason i say this over a normal hotel room (which of course would be fine with two double beds and a cot is that once the 5 yr old and baby have gone to bed with a suite or family room you often get a seperate room with a tv etc so you can chill with a drink and not disturbn the kids

I just worked out the 11 month okld is not even born yet - good luck with that :)

Try looking at places like Virgin holidays and use topcashback or quid co if you do book. You will not need to pay a full fare fo reh 11 month old and you wont get an airline seat but you will still need a ticket which is normally 10 percent of the flight cost. Yes I know its a con.

As its your first holiday I would not reconmend you try and do it yourself. Let either a nice travel agen liek Premier Tracel take the strain or the internet. So Virgin holidays is a good choice or jetsave or even travel city direct.

We took our eldest (7 yesterday) when she was just 11 months and it was fine. We bought Gerber food which was great and she had a cribn (a cvot) in our room. On the plane they sat us in teh bulkheads and she had a cool skycot supplied by the airline.

They even kept her milk cold in the fridge and heated it for us when needed.

Hi, We are looking to return to Disney around Easter, i know its not the best time but we are fairly flexible. Looking for flights between 28 Mar to 1 May 09 for 18 - 21 days.

We will book villa last minute as there are absolutely thousands of them available! and maybe a few nights in Disney to make the most of the Magic Hours.

If anyone knows of any good deals i would be grateful for posts/pms/links etc.

    Thanks in advance

    PJB

We are now considering Summer Hols as an alternative. Any advice on the following gratefully received:
    i) Flight prices, any difference or same for all School hols
ii) Which is busier, ie: at parks etc
iii) Weather, April was nice last year but i have heard Summer hols can be pretty extreme
    iv) Anything else!

    Thanks

    Hi PJB

We are in Orlando for all of August and its my fav time. Yes its hot and yes its bust but you go on holiday for the sun!!

The fligths though are somewhat dearer in the summer hol period. If you can you are best to aim for the last week and if possible include a week of school time it will be a lot cheaper.

it does get humid in the summer but if you drink water and take a small hand flannel with you to the parks to keep you cool and wipe sweat its fine.

Its busy in the summer but not mad. Make good use of a touring plan from the Unoffical Guide to Walt Disney World by Len Testa and that will help you. Also good use of fast pass and planning your days will help.

You also get longer daylight days and can often have lovely evenings swimming until midnight!

    Cheers
