I love this part of the forum and it has provided so much help to me and my wife over the last six months while we planned our holiday. Thanks to all those who posted questions and all those who answered.
We are finally off to Orlando this coming Thursday, only five more sleeps to go!!! My wife and I (33 & 30) are staying at the Quality Inn Plaza on I-Drive (cheap & cheerful) for two weeks, no car as we love using the I-Ride trolley and use Virgin transfers to Disney. We've got 14 Day Disney Ultimate for the price of a 7 Day and also 14 Day Flex Ticket Plus, we are going park crazy for the whole two weeks!
Good luck to all those planning trips and happy memories to all those who have been already.Silentnight Bed, Babystyle Travel System, City iGo Headphones, Amazon Kindle, £50 iTunes Voucher, Jaeger Handbag, Fisher Price Baby Gym, Digital Waterproof Camera,
£50 Love2Shop Voucher, Product of the Year Hamper,

Not sure if anyone has noticed that Travel City Direct is back following the collapse of XL Group. Now part of Virgin Holidays.
Have been looking at prices for two weeks in June and it looks quite reasonable. disney_cjd and others, not sure if what you think, particularly around car hire and theme park ticket prices they are offer? The theme park ticket prices looked good, but the proper insurance for car hire looked a little steep to me.
Anyways, the main luxury resorts they offer are:- Glenbrook
- Windsor Hills
- Westhaven
- Highgrove
- Hampton Lakes
- Tuscany
- Tuscan Hills Courtyard
The rebirth of TCD in my mind can only be a good thing. Virgin may have their knockers, i for one am tired of the Orlando flights being delayed all the time but they ar working on that I am told (by Steve Ridgway huimself (look a tme))
So your holiday is made up of of four main elements....
1) Flights
2) acconimdation
3) car hire/transfers
4) tickets
Those things are the main four for booking. Of course there are lots of other elements to it.
TCD and many other places like Jetsave, Virign Holidays and even BA Holidays offer the lot. Is that cheaper than doing it yourself, probably not. but for first time travellers or busy people or peopel that just want to point and click there is nothing wrong with it. I am sure there are also sometimes you can get a cheaper deal with a all in packlage.
If you are concerend that you are not getting the best deal here is a few steps to check each stage
1) go to https://www.kayak.co.uk and check your flgith prices
2) go to https://www.lastminutevillas.net or https://www.allstarvacationhomes.com and check you villa or https://www.marriott.com to check your hotel from teh fairfield inn on id drive to the Marriott World center
3) go to https://www.usrentacar.co.uk or https://www.yescarhire.co.uk to check the car prices. These palces do ALL in car hire so the price you see is the car hire plus insurance. they all use the decent hire companies
4) go to https://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk or even check on https://www.waltdisneyworld.co.uk for the price of the tickets to see what they are charging. please please please do noy buy any tickets from eBay you just do not know what youa re getting
Disney often do lots of deals such as free dining plans or 14 days for 7. Whilst these are often US based you can check out places like https://www.mousefantravel.com and see whats on.
So I hope this helps, but you should never be worried about doing a package. TCD will strive under Virgin I am sur of it.
Cheers

Thanks
I have had a look and am not sure
Am going to disney on birthday and when I do the kennedy centre I am going to try and book a full exprience day which virgin dont do
I am not that bothered about seaworld, I would like to go but it may be between that and the everglades
Only have 6 fulls days so will have to leave some stuff until next time
I am thinking
Disney once
Kennedy centre
everglades
universal
Which leaves time for either seaworld or another disney place
I kind of would like to go to the magic kingdom for my birthday for my fireworks They all look so much fun
What would someone recommend for 2 30 year olds going withouth kids
I like gentle rides and wouldnt go on any roller coasters
Didnt there used to be a video you could get from disney to watch
Thanks for all the advice as I am feeling lost
I have ended up getting a car hire with extra insurance for peace of mind and though there is free transfers to some of the parks we will need it if we go to the everglades
Hi there
Firstly if you go to Disney on your birthday take your passport as you will get in for free or get a gift card (your choice) so that makes for a better day!
Any of the Disney parks would be preferable to Seaworld in my opinion and there is so much to see in any of them without rides. Epcot is great for wondering around and seeing all the differenct worlds in the showcase, Animal kingdom has some great shows and the studios has the preemo event in teh evening at Fantastic which costs Disney over 30k USD each time they run it!
You cold also maybe spend at day at a waterpark if the weather is nice, thats kind cool.
The space center is awesome as are the boat rides. What about maybe checking gatorland out on your last day ?
Its not all thrill riodees yo uwill be glad to hear

i wouldnt touch them now, they must think people have very short memories after people being stranded last year and not getting any help. i am surprised they are on the go again as some people are still out of pocket from last year with them. talk about a kick in the teeth. please correct me if im wrong though?0 -
From what I can gather, Virgin have brought TCD's customer base and very little else!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0

You only get a gift card if you already hold a Multi Day ticket or are a pass holder. As sharnad doesn't appear to have any tickets as yet it would be sensible to "do" Disney on their birthday.

As you are two 30 year olds you might like to upgrade your free ticket to a multi park one and zoom round all of the Disney parks (start with the animal safari at Animal Kingdom early in the morning) and end up in Magic Kingdom for their fireworks, enjoy your birthday :j0
