"JustWonderful wrote: »Hello...I got the information wrong earlier, so need your help again..
basically we want to go to disney - 5 days in the floridian, and 9 days in port orleans. We want a 14 day ultimate ticket and the disney dining plan. I am going with my parents and 2 year old sister. It is my mums 40th birthday whilst we are out there.
Disney said that the dining plan has to be bought with a park ticket, and is limited to the amount of time you spend at the hotel. So if we go to port orleans first, we can have 9 days of the dining plan, a 14 day ultimate ticket, but no dining plan at the floridian, as we have not purchased a park ticket linked to this hotel.....
So the only way around the problem is to buy 2 x 7 day park tickets, which actually cost nearly double a 14 day ticket, thus putting more than £660 onto our trip........
SO IN A NUTSHELL...DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW WE CAN STILL HAVE A DINING PLAN BUT SPLIT OUR HOTELS?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...
Hi
Well i did ask my experts and got this from Annette. HTH a little

You have to have a ticket unless you have an AP. If one person was to get an AP then you could get the dining plan added to the room and then everyone else could purchase the 14 day ticket. The other option would be to get a 10 day ticket with the package at the Port Orleans reservation and then get 4 days at the Grand Floridian. You save more money the more days you add onto the number of ticket days.
This is the quick and easy answer. If you have more questions…. Feel free to email me!Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

I've narrowed down my choice of villas, and have the following areas
Sunset Ridge, Hampton Lake, Southern Dunes, Westbury Community, all Davenport
Sandy Ridge & Silver Creek, Kissimmee
I'd probably prefer to stay in Kissimee, but does anyone have any experience of these areas they'd care to share?Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -

Been to Kissimmee area a few times but to Chatham Park or Indian Point i always look at these due to ease of getting to the 192 road.0 -
I got back from Disney this morning and am a strict vegetarian. Just wanted to give the latest info to those veggies looking to eat in the parks.
The vegetarian options do change reasonably regularly, so these may be subject to change if you are going some time into the future.
First, I'm pleased to say that Disney has replaced its absolutely dire veggie burger with a patty something like what we would consider to be a veggie burger by UK standards. This is available in all their parks. Check that it is cooked through though, this is a new offering and I had to take one back because it was cold in the centre.
Options are particularly good at Epcot. My particular favourites are the vegetarian plate at the Morocco pavilion (veggies, hummous, couscous etc) and you can make a veggie mexican meal at, would you believe, the Mexican pavilion.
Edited to add this para: At the Magic Kingdom you can get veggie wraps and a good veggie chilli, as well as salads. On the rare occasions that it is 'seasonally open' and serving its menu, you can get veggie mexican food at Pericos y Piritos opposite Pirates of the Caribbean.
I don't tend to spend full days in Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom. Can vouch for the fact that they do pizzas there, I'm sure that they do more but I haven't sought anything else out.
At Kennedy Space Center they do a nice tomato pasta at the newly rebuilt dining place opposite the Imax cinema (not sure of the name, but that's where it is, or the ubiquitous cheese pizza at the Saturn V center).
At Universal, its worth stepping outside of the park as they have a good veggie menu at Hard Rock, I do like their veggie burgers as well as their veggie fajitas.
Away from the theme parks, for fast food Taco Bell (bean burritos, salads, nachos) is a good bet as is Sbarro (pastas), these can be found in the food courts of many of the malls, as can some other offerings such as quick eats chinese food. Burger King has also introduced a much better veggie burger.
For sit down dining the Olive Garden and Cheesecake Factory both have good vegetarian options and both are chains so easy to find.

sweet tomatoes still seem to be going. My last visit in 2001 was full of meals there, as myself and partner at the time were both vegetarian.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0

We have taken car seats for our 2 children every year and they don't count towards luggage allowance so just go in the hold have had no probs in 6 years. We did buy one when we went with DD when she was only 9 months old and brought it back to the UK but when we took it for a fitting check the health and safety aspect of it was somewaht suspect apparently and we were told it didn't meet UK standards. Obviously we didn't keep it overhere!!0 -

I've stayed at Southern Dunes before and whilst it was lovely and Walmart was very handy right at the entrance, it was quite far away from the parks, a good 20 mins drive. So we have gone for Sunset ridge this year, a lot closer.0 -
thanks everyone, i think we'll hire the seats for one day and buy a couple over there, it makes perfect sense to do this.

We went in April 2008 and they charged us $10 per day for car seats. So we bought a new one there and brought it back with us. We go again 30 April and taking it back with us as we are going for 21 days. So it will save us $2100 -
Disney_cjd,
Sorry to sound a bit thick but what does AP mean!?
And thanks for the other info in your post- i didnt know that some places required two credits, not sure if my Mum knows either, so will let her know.
Thanks for all your help0
