I've narrowed down my choice of villas, and have the following areas
Sunset Ridge, Hampton Lake, Southern Dunes, Westbury Community, all Davenport
Sandy Ridge & Silver Creek, Kissimmee
I'd probably prefer to stay in Kissimee, but does anyone have any experience of these areas they'd care to share?
Fan of Davenport because you can get an idea of how America and Americans really are.
We love Southern Dunes. Everything is there thats on the192 except the traffic. Yes its further from the Parks but quite often quicker. And its great on your pool days watching the golfers. and the antics of the girl selling drinks from her golf cart.Never seeen a golf cart move so quick.
Sandy Ridge was the tattiest villa we ever had but one of the happiest three weeks we ever had there with Champions Gate just down the road and the back way into old Kissimmee which very few tourists ever go to. And looking at the chain gangs clearing the ditches out.

Sorry to sound a bit thick but what does AP mean!?
And thanks for the other info in your post- i didnt know that some places required two credits, not sure if my Mum knows either, so will let her know.
Thanks for all your help
No probs at all
AP means annual pass and whilst you may thing, why do i want one of those, you should see if the additional cost over a 14 day ultimate saves you on this scenario you are in.
Yes some of the plush dining houses need two credits like the California Grill and Yachtsman steakhouse but I think both of those are well worth it

I'm going to Orlando in Feb. We're staying on International Drive and our hotel provides free suttle buses to Universal etc, but what is the best way to get to Disney World as these aren't included.
Obviously the cheaper the better.0 -

get the local lynx bus service (no 8) on international drive, get off at seaworld and get on another bus (no 50) to disney. these lynx buses do free transfers as well just remember to ask for them when you get on the first bus. you can either get off the bus at downtown disney or the ticket and transportation centre then you just use the free diney transportation from there. look at the lynx bus timetable on the net. really cheap and easy to use, i never use a car there.0 -
Heading to Orlando for two weeks in April for first time in about 7 or 8 years! (As my name gives away, im a Vegas nut normally!)
I've been looking at purchasing the Diney Ultimate Ticket (2 weeks @ £221) and also the Universal - 2 parks unlimited ($94.99). We want to do pretty much everything as we may not be back in Orlando for some time. What is the cheapest way of visiting all the parks - do we buy direct from Disney/Universal? I have heard that it is now not as easy to get tickets from the ticket outlets on I-Drive.
I've started to read my way through 150 pages of this thread....3 down, 147 to go!0 -

Thank you so much. Its great to speak to someone who's used the bus.
Do you remember roughly how long it takes to get a bus from International Drive to Disney as i don't fancy spending most of my days on buses?
Also can you clarifiy a little more on them being free, surley they charge for using the bus?0 -
Well, after all this to-ing and fro-ing my mum is now looking at staying at the Grand Floridian for 14 nights , i will keep you all posted!0

Hey everyone!
I am always curious about the price of tickets. When me and my family went 10 years ago, we bought our tickets to Disney from a little booth on I-Drive ... however my mum seems to think that this wasn't an unlimited 14-day pass, but separate passes, e.g. a pass for Magic Kingdom, pass for Epcot etc. She also says that she thinks they were reused tickets, and thats why we got them so cheap. Can anyone clarify this?
How do things stand now? Are there any cheap places that sell them in Florida? Obviously I assume that the unlimited 14 day pass would work out much cheaper than buying separate tickets for each park.
Oh and also, could anyone tell me when the cheapest time of year to go is? When we went before we went in May, it was lovely, nice temperature and not too busy.
Thanks for your help! I wish i was there now :j0 -

When 2 go has been discussed on here numerous times it is all a matter of personal choice and when you can go because of children! I do not like it too hot so we prefer March to May. And Sept to November.
There are numerous booths along the 192 and I.Drive but to me a big risk! I know many years ago I sold some left over tickets,to a booth, and lied to the guy a little!!!! But that was then, nowadays with the different types of Disney tickets most of them expire. The same with EBay very big risk of being had. The only places you can check Disney tickets are at their guest relation booths. So you really have no idea what you are buying.
I can never remember individual tickets, you could and can buy a ticket for one day with no hopper privileges so in effect that makes it an individual park ticket.
Hope that helps a little!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

the transfer ticket which you have to ask for is free but your bus ticket is $2
go on this website and you can plan your bus timetable. not too long on the buses. only use taxis when coming back from universal studios.
