Wonder if someone can give me some advice for which car will be big enough for 4 big suitcases? We are also taking 4 wheelie on flight ones too.
Normally we get a Dodge caravan, but tbh there are only 2ad + 2ch (teenagers), and money is a bit tight this year (as for everyone I know).
    Please can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance!

    Anybody help with this please?

    Hi Lan

When we fly into Tampa we often hire a car to get to the house. We are two adults and two small kids (6 well she is 7 tomorrow and 4). We tracel with two large 75cm wheely cases normally and two small roll on carry ones. The last time we did this we had a Dodge Magmun wagan, which is the 300c estate. Its a highe car but we only jsut got these in, we could maybe have got another case in but thats about it.

So like you we nornmally go for a dodge grand caravan as it has a bigger boot.

Even the town cars and cabs which are normally Ford Crown Victorias would struggle with four large cases and four carry ons.

Have you tried some of the cheaper places for car hire such as https://www.yescarhire.com or https://www.usrentacar.com sometimes these can be a lot cheaper than going via an agent. Or try Premier Tracel they can normally get very good prices.

Hi there and welcome to our little corner :)

So you need three rooms? not quite peak season and 6 flights. I would say as a ball park that the flights would be in teh range of 500 each. I am not sure of any direct flights to Orlando International BUT you might get some from Bristol or cardiff into Sanford (which is not that much further away). So tahts 3 grand taken care off.

As for a room, if we say you are staying at the Pop Centruy then you could be looking at about 160 bucks a night tops. so 14 nights thats 2100 DOLLARS a room so thats 6300 dollars for three rooms and thats about £4285.

So far we have spent about 7285 quid.

Car hire, depends on what cars etc and how many but even two cars would not cost you more than 600 quid for the two weeks. so we are still under 8 grand. Add park tickets at a couple of hundred quid a person thats 1200 quid so we are at 9200 roughly.

So its possible yes. Here are some web sites for pricing it up though....

    1) https://www.virginholidays.com but access this via https://www.quidco.com as you will earn cashback. Also if you have virgin credit card thats another 10 percent off

    2) https://www.kayak.co.uk for flights.

    3) https://www.mousefantravel.com for the Disney hotels or email Annette from that site and she will check the prices for you. Or try hotels.com

    4) try tracel City Direct again,. They have now been bought by Virgin adn the flights are on Virgin

    5) other members here have suggested jetsave before as they are often cheaper.

Do you know which of the Disney hotels your mum is jkeen on? If the value ones she likes Id suggest he Pop Century. If she wants something a bit plusher then Id suggest Port Orleans French quarter.

Another thing to suggest is a Villa 9www.lastminutevillas.net or https://www.allstarvactionhomes.com you can get a very ver fancy one for about a grand a week and thats between the six of you.

LAstly, you could even try renting some DVC points from someone (take a look at https://www.disboards.com) / DVC is Disney Vacation Club and is basically a disney timeshare. people who own the timeshares often rent their weeks out to others. There are some lovely palces like the Boardwalk Villas etc that you could rent and that would be in Disney but give you more room than a hotel.

Lots to think about I know

    Cheers

Does that price include tickets & car hire?

Never done the Disney hotels, but am going for 3rd time this year, the make up has always been 6 adults and 3 children and we have found villas to be good. Seperate bedrooms for the couples, private pool for relaxing, eat what you want when you want as opposed to having to go to a restaurant. We added in 1 car & 1 minibus meant that we could all go together to places or that you could split the group if someone wanted quiet time.

I think villa, flights and car hire is costing us about £6500 to go at the end of March, and then about £1500 for tickets, depending on exactly what you want to do.

    Hope that helps.
