Hi, We are looking to return to Disney around Easter, i know its not the best time but we are fairly flexible. Looking for flights between 28 Mar to 1 May 09 for 18 - 21 days.

We will book villa last minute as there are absolutely thousands of them available! and maybe a few nights in Disney to make the most of the Magic Hours.

If anyone knows of any good deals i would be grateful for posts/pms/links etc.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

Has anyone stayed at the Windsor Palms resort? I am thinking of booking a villa or town house on this resort because it's close to the parks, therefore not too much driving, and we have the advantage of having the communal facilities as well as having our own space and pool/spa within our own holiday home.

It looks fab on the web site, but is it really as good as this??

    Any other suggestions about locations?

    Thanks
    Waddle you do eh?
  • Hi everyone this is my first post, so please be kind. . We are going to Florida in April for 3 weeks(2 Adult, 1 12 yd old Son) with VA staying at Wyndham Orlando! Although i am now REALLY panicking as read reviews on various sites and am thinking of changing this (any recommendations would be welcome) now thinking of Fairfield Inn .
We have looked at various tickets available but after reading so many different posts i am confused confused_smile.gif We as a family have decided that one park every other day would be sensible with a visit in between to a water park or shopping etc. We are looking to visit MK, AK, Epcot, Seaworld, MGM, , Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure, Wet n Wild. over the 3 weeks. We have thought 2 days in MK, 1 in AK, 1 in MGM, 2 Epcot, 2 Seaworld, 1 Islands of Adventure, 2 Universal Studios, 1 Space Kennedy Centre, 1 Clearwater trip to beach + water parks etc, My other half seems to think buying two 14 days flexi tickets would be useless as we cannot have rest days (have to be used witihin this period of time) any help on this i would really appreciate. Sorry for the length of this post but wanted to give you as much info as possible in order to get a reply. regular_smile.gif Already checked FloridaTix, Attraction Tickets Direct, etc but all prices seem to be relatively the same. Does anybody know of any other companies to try? Also one last question does anybody know if it is best to get tickets now or leave till nearer the time as offers become available at certain times of year.:)

No you are OK Kezza, it does not go upside down. But at the back it does give you a good shake up!

I was thinking exactly the same, any opinions?

on the flight front its very difficult to judge, all i can offer is past experiences....

we are very lucky and go to Florida three and sometimes four times a year. We always try and book as soon as possible because historically thats when the prices are cheaper and as we go during school holidays the prices are sometimes silly.

This has always been fine and I have nearly always never booked a ticket and then seen the price fall. Until this year.

Our flights for Easter 09 have fallen by over 100 a person since booking. There is of course nothing I can do about it but there you go. Same for October. April is Virgina nd Oct is BA to tampa which was very cheap anyway and now even cheaper.

The jukly one though has gone up.

I think with all companies selling luxusry goods like flights etc you should get a good deal now. Will ti go down, I do not know but I suppose all you can do is check for the price, iof you are happy book it and do not wait because sods law is it will go up and not down.

Remember on Virgin to use https://www.quidco.co.uk as you get a few percent cashback also.

And i know ti scosts few bob more please use a credit card - you will get Section 75 protection shoudl the worse happen and the airline goes bust.

Also dont forget to try travel agents like Premier Travel who can often reserve the seats.

    Hi Karen

Ni problems at all, you will get lots of helpful tips on here.

First the hotel. Is it the Wydym on I Drive? If so I think this used to be a marriott and I stayed there and it was lovely. The Fairfield inn is a nice hotel as per the review snd you get a free breakie but it (for a Marriott) is quite basic but there is absolutley nothign wriong with it.

Which hotel has the best ammenties for you and your family? best pool, best on site food etc. I think the wydham had apizza hut etc.

If you are reading trip advisor i would take that with a pinch of salt to be honest. There are peopel there that will complain about anything. Hav eyou bought a guide book? From your holiday plan I would suggest the Brits Guide to Orlando 2009 - will cost about a tenner but will help you greatly and also give you extra something to read before you go!!!

3 weeks is a great timeframe to go in. You do not have to rush everything and you will have lots of time to enjoy things. Your 12 year old may not want 2 days in MK. Whislt its my favorite park I know some 12 year old jsut want to ride the thrirll rides.

A 14 day ultimate ticket does give you 14 days access so you can split your days and just pop back to the magic kingdom for the evening shows etc. You can park hope and take it easy. I will of course mean that you have to do the Disney parks in those 2 weeks mind you.

I am not a fan of seaworld and so I would not say two days there. Have you thought about discovery cove maybe? Whilst I know its not cheap its a once in a life time experince.

There is lots to do in Orlando - you will ahve a great time, but do not worry about the hotel. Just read about them on their actual websites https://www.marriott.com for the fairfield and see what they offer you.

    Cheers

I don't like 'coasters, but I coped with Space Mountain. It doesn't go upside down and even though it says it is in the dark, there is enough light to see what is coming and brace yourself.

Anyone like to review some of the 'coasters for those of us who don't enjoy having our intestines rearranged? All the reviews seem to go on about how fast they are and how big the drops are  which tends to put me off.

(Personally I can cope with Thunder Mountain runaway train, and can just about cope with Splash mountain, so that is about my level of thrill seeking)
  • where do people normally fly to?

Hi Karen, I'm also staying at orlando wyndham in april ( with VA ) and i've read some bad reviews but a lot of these seem to be from American tourists. Anyway, i have read more good than bad reviews and am not going to worry anymore.
Would reccomend the Brits Guide to Orlando as mentioned by craig and some other posters and it does say in there that the wyndom is good value for money and well situated etc.
I have seen cheap tickets for flexticket £140 with Virgin but dont know if you have to book with them to get this price. I booked with Hayes and Jarvis though we are flying with VA.
    See you there lol
