Apparently we have a 3 hours in New York on our way out. Anyone know if there is any way we can see anything in NY whilst we are there. It is JFK.

I know we won't have much time,(about 60 - 90 minutes?) between immigration and boarding for our next flight, but you never know what might be just around the corner.

Will go and ask in the NY thread too.

Not really, it would take you about 45 mins to get into Manhattan.

Thanks everyone. We will be staying just off Highway 27 I have been told its about 20mins ride from Disney. We will be there for 2 weeks. I dont even know how many parks there are that is how clueless I am on it all!!! I know we want to go to Seaworld, Magic Kingdom, little one is really into Superheroes etc and dinosaurs so something for him. I am going to write down this week the things we really want to do and try and make some kind of plan. Are the parks all pretty near each other?? or are they miles apart?? Hubby doesnt like shopping much but I have been told we really should try out some shopping, also looking to find good eating places around our villa area that does good food with maybe child discounts.:j

    Hi there

teh 27 is a long orad, do you know the name of the villa resort/community you are staying in and I can tell you if it is really 20 mins from Disney and what is around there. We live on the 27 so know it quite well

    Cheers

Has anybody got any recommendations for malls? staying on i-drive, definately want one with a discount disney shop-getting kids xmas pressies out there where poss! would love a few bits of cheapo designer clobber, and always up for a bit of Gap :)

If you haev a car then really there are four main palces to shop

The outlet malls are super. There are three main ones. I did a while ago list all of them and their web sites but you can google them./ There is my favourite which is the Lake Buena Vista Factory Store,s then my next favourite the Premuim Outlets and then finally the Prime Outlets which is on I DRive but its my least favorite although it has recetnly been done up very nicely.

Some of the shops can look like a war zone after "sonme" of the brits have been in there but there are some great palces to buy most things and new american brands to try as well.

Ther are also two main proper amlls which are the Floruida Mall which is in the Trail and Sand Lake Road and also the Mall at Milena which is very very nice. Built by the same people that did bluewater and looks ismilar but its pricey. HAs some great places to eat in there thouh like the Cheesecake Facotyr, Johhny Rockets or Brios.

Cheers for that, will do. Unfortunately as we are going Friday to Friday over 2 weeks (still not sure why) It means we have 2 weekends so I think we will have to do something on one day for each.

    :j

The waterparks are fine at the weekends, probably best time to go really.

you should visit the forum www.thedibb.co.uk , probably the forum with the most info on disney tbh

There arent many places to eat along H27 , you really need to go along the 192 or international drive , but as i say go and visit the dibb ( there are a few dibb members on here ) its the best place to go to get the info

The dibb will bombard you :) Where abouts on teh 27 are you? There are quite a few palces there to eat now,. There is an olive garden, Red Lobster, Bob Evans, Carabbas, Chilis, Webndys even McDonlads, Mannys Chop house, Applebees so its pretty good. Its a much nicer road than the 192 unles you have alijking for neon LOL

Be careful if you are buying Kids clothes from the Gap as they dont sell them at Premium outlets but they do at LBV factory stores which its a much nicer place anyway.

Sitcom - don't stress too much, you still have plenty of time to plan, and even if you don't, you will still have loads of fun.

As has been mentioned above, get an idea of what you want to do and draw up a basic plan. Don't forget driving and rest days - you wouldn't drive 60 miles to spend a day in London, drive back and do it all again the next day, so don't do it in Florida.

I haven't tried the guides before, but am getting them this time as they get good recommendations.

IMO - If you are going for 2 weeks, pick the FIVE things you really want to do, plan those, and then fit the rest in if you can (5 parks + rest days = 10 days, a day at either end for packing and travel and you are virtually done). But don't think of a rest day as a rest day - it might just mean an afternoon in a mall, or going on an airboat ride, but you want to be fresh to enjoy a full day at the parks - if that is your thing, especially with kids - you don't want to be dragging overtired kids around. (I regret being too tired to see the fireworks at Epcot)

    Good advice.

The thing with Orlando is there is SOOOO much to do. Think about all the Disney oparks, plus Universal and then Busch gardens plus Sea world the water parks, space center etc etc - will take you a fournight to do all that without coming up for air! Its a holiday after all so some nice R&R by the pool of a afternoon roundf the shops is no bad thing.

If you have an all you cna eat Disney pass then you could do a park earkly from iopening to lunch then chill out in the evening have a meal then oplay soem crazy golf etc. You dont have to max out the poarks every day although its very tempting I know!!

Even if you are staying on Disney property there is so much to do and see withough even going to a park. The books are great.

    Have fun

Re park tickets, does anyone know if there's anywhere online I can check the validity of some tickets. We have some options left on ours (for waterparks etc), and when we last went we paid for them to be indefinate, just not sure how many we have left on each ticket.

No, as I think mentioned you can only do this at Dusney BUT you do not have to rock up to a park you can go it at Downtown Disney also

    Hi,

Having looked on here once before I saw Broadway Travel recommended. I can currently find flights for the correct dates and accomodation. This would be our 1st time to Disney, & like everyone else this year I'm on a budget.

Basically I'm unsure if I've done my maths right as the price I'm getting looks rather cheap. Its for 2 adults & 2 children flying out 20th May 2009, returning 2nd June. I've got a price of £1400 for flights and another £1000 to stay in a Disney hotel. Does this look right or am I way out? My next option is to go 24th July but I wasn't too sure if it'd be too hot or hurricane season?

Or if anyone has any other suggestions re companys to use I'd be very grateful. Also does anyone know who the 'scheduled' airline is that Broadway travel use?
