Always seen those - Isn't there one just up passed Old Town in Kissimee?

    Looked like fun

There's one on i-drive, you dont have to book. Just walk in and of you go!
Called Air Florida Helicopters. They have a website and there's a discount coupon on it as well. Not much but better than nothing.

I have drawn up a spreadsheet detailing what we will do when :nerd:

I have factored in when the Magic Hours are on the parks so that we don't go on those days. We are doing Water Parks on the weekends as I figure these will be less busy than the Main Parks. There is a rocket launch at NASA (not shuttle) whilst we are out there - although they haven't replied to me email for more details :grr:

We are going to do Busch Gardens for a day and then stay over in a Motel at Clearwater Beach (thanks for the tip) and then do an afternoon in the Dali museum. And we are going to look at a day out in Winter Park including boat ride (We like boats rides, having done London, Cambridge, Paris and Berlin)

We have a nationwide bank account and I am going to apply for one of the recommended credit cards in February

I have ordered the Unofficial Disney Guide and the Brits Guide to Orlando

Thanks for all the useful tips (As you can see, I like to plan my holidays like a military campaign - but there will be lots of sunbathing, swimming and beer whilst I am there)

After reading above post I got a bit panicky. We will be making our first trip to Florida at the end of May, I dont have a clue about what is good what is not, when to go to parks when to stay away. What kind of car to get etc etc etc. Would love someone to give me some real basic advice on what to do/not to do there are 2 adults 2 children age 11 & 6. Should I start planning now and how??????????????
where are you staying and how long for?
google wdwmagic and havea look at there website, its a bit dedeciated fan based, but theres loads of info on there, places to eat, what to eat, reviews of rides, even park maps.dont worry about planning everything, but just a little planning will help alot. if your staying in a disney resort hotel, youll have a few extra hours each morning or evening in on of the parks, before the general public are allowed in, so with a little bit of planning you can beat the queus do the rides and then enjoy the rest of the day, watching parades, shows, chillin' enjoying the time with your family. depending on your childs height some of the rides might be out of bounds to them, have a look on the site, its gets the disney juices flowing!
  • Thanks everyone. We will be staying just off Highway 27 I have been told its about 20mins ride from Disney. We will be there for 2 weeks. I dont even know how many parks there are that is how clueless I am on it all!!! I know we want to go to Seaworld, Magic Kingdom, little one is really into Superheroes etc and dinosaurs so something for him. I am going to write down this week the things we really want to do and try and make some kind of plan. Are the parks all pretty near each other?? or are they miles apart?? Hubby doesnt like shopping much but I have been told we really should try out some shopping, also looking to find good eating places around our villa area that does good food with maybe child discounts.:j

wow its difficult to know where to start then. parks
    sea world
    busch gardens
    universal studios
    universal islands of adventures
    wet n wild
    disneys magic kingdom
    disney epcot
    disney animal kingdom
    disney holly wood studios
    disney typhoon laggon water park
    disney blizzard beach water park
    sea world aqautica water park!
so you see youll need to do a little planning, you cant and wont be able to visit all of them.
i am a bit of a disney nut and always do the disney parks, so i would recommend a 14 day ultimate ticket (which at the moment is the same price as a 7 day ticket)with this you can do all the disney parks above (as well as disney quest at downtown disneywhich is a indoor theme park), plus with this ticket you can go to more than one in a day, so you could go to the magic kingdom in morning then a water park, then back to animal kingdom, if you wanted to.
ibeleive universal also do one similar to this which covers their parks.i havent done universal yet but plan to this time we go in may (might see you there)
super heroes are probably at iniversal parks.
dinosuars are in animal kingdom (not real ones! but rides and dinosaur ares)
seaworld you could probably see in one day
    universal 3 or 4 days
a day each at a water park (though if you get the disney ticktet stick to the disney water parks as its included and there are all the same!?
1,2 day for each disney park.
get your self a good guide book before you go!
  • The waterparks are great for the "days off" as the adults can laze around on deck chairs/recliners and the kids can go on all the slides. (We are only doing 2 Disney Parks this year, but are also doing 2 water parks - what is a holiday without some relaxing by the pool time?)

I've found quite a good deal to stay at the Disney Pop Century with flight and the disney park tickets. We only intend to do the Disney Parks so do you think that we really would need a car.

Most travel agents are giving us a free car but then you have to add over £200 for insurance that stretches the budget quite a bit. Already the budget is tight so every little help.

Also would you know how much a little car would be for just a couple of days if we wanted to take a 2 days trip to Miami?? And do they provide car seat for kids (daughter will be 4 by then)

    Thanks

No need. Disney have their own free transport system. Also you can get to i-drive, universal with the local bus service lynx.

P.S Pop Century is great. You will love it. Been there twice! If you want a trip book with gator tours as they go to lots of places - ive used them to go to Clearwater, Kennedy Space Centre and also to see the Orlando Magic Basketball team play. They do other trips and there are other companies that do this so take the hassle out of your holiday by driving and let someone else do it. I never drive there and dont miss it one bit!
  • No you don't really need a car if you are staying onsite at Disney as the Disney transport is good, as is Pop Century I must add and your daughter will love it. You can easitly go back to PC in the afternoon for pool time and a rest then go back in the evening for fireworks etc.

You can also get the Lynx buses from DTD or from the Transportation Centre at Magic Kingdom (you take a ferry to the TCC from MK) and the Lynx bus will take you to Seaworld for a couple of dollars. If you are tired or late you can always get a taxi back to DTD then the Disney coach from there to Pop Century. Same with getting to any shopping centres, take the Disney transport to DTD then get a taxi from there which is a bit cheaper than getting a taxi from Pop Century.

you should visit the forum www.thedibb.co.uk , probably the forum with the most info on disney tbh

There arent many places to eat along H27 , you really need to go along the 192 or international drive , but as i say go and visit the dibb ( there are a few dibb members on here ) its the best place to go to get the info

Hi I came back yesterday and we stayed in Calabay Parc just off the 27. There's an applebee's on the 27 which we quite liked and its happy hour all evening so drinks are cheap. The menu is also quite extensive. Also on the 27 are a couple of takeaways Domino's, Bamboo Wok (Check your bill we had problems) the food there was lovely though. It took us 15 minutes to get to disney just jump on the I4. Have a good time!
