29 days to go for my first ever visit to the Magic Kingdom. My youngest wants to go to see Peter Pan first so we can get some fairy dust and never die :D. She also thinks it never rains in the MK.

Lucky for you it most likely wont rain. All those who go in summer get loads of the stuff!

    Sitcom,

I agree with Sturll, a week at the theme parks should definately be followed by a slower-paced beach/resort holiday. It might just be me, but I find when I tried to do a relaxing few days in Orlando instead of heading somewhere else it just seemed like we were slacking and should be at a park :rotfl:

I'd highly recommend Clearwater Beach. There's plenty to do (dolphin tours, 'pirate' tours, water sports, restaurants, bars crazy golf, shopping etc) but if you just want to relax then the beaches are superb. Have a google to have a look. They really are beautiful. Plus, I'd say one of the main things going for Clearwater Beach is that it's only 1 1/2 hours drive from Orlando...I'd love to go to Miami one day but even though that's 'only' a 4 or so hr drive it always seems to put us off!

Another close one is Daytona Beach, but I don't like that as they allow cars to drive on the beach - spoils it in my opinion.

Have a fantastic time - if it rains you can just tell the little one that it's not rain, it's a special (rare) sort of fairy dust!

If you think she is old enough to stay awake that late, try and stay to watch Wishes fireworks as Tinkerbell 'flies' down over the crowd from one of the turrets of the castle. She lands on the roof of the noodle house at the top right hand end of main street( as you look toward the castle). Magical.

how long a drive is orlando to clearwater?

I've been from Orlando to Tampa a couple of times (purely for busch)

It looks like a drive to tampa and then on to clearwater (also is the journey pretty scenic, from the maps it looks like it's over the gulf?
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

    lucygotit,

    Have you contacted John Deere?

    https://secure.sitesphere.net/users/jebuckle/new_item.asp?id=179&categoryid=25

I live near this place that does John Deere stuff and the website says they do John Deere toys, I found it on their website. Give them a call, see what they say, maybe I can have it posted to you if it weighs too much. PM me if you want.

Just a quick one about smoking - if you're fussy about the brand/taste you might be better getting them in the UK (or british cigs at least - so on the plane is fine)...there's not much difference in price, if I remember rightly we paid about £2.50 for 20 marlboro lights at Gatwick and the were £2.80ish in Florida, but they are different strengths, so the same brand might taste very different.

Like CJD said, its a lovely drive. The first part is all highway so isn't too special, but the end 20 mins / half an hour is driving over the water, it's beautiful and really makes you realise that you're going somewhere lovely! I got back from there on Sunday and would love to go back. Any room in your suitcase?!
