    Hi everyone!

Sorry if this has recently been covered but my question is about upgrading disney tickets so that they don't expire.
We are going next year in October, and plan to get either the 14 day ultimate or the 7 day pass for Disney.
Obviously with the price discount at the moment the Ultimate looks the best deal. But can you make it so that it doesn't expire? Is it only the 5 or 7 day pass?
Also where abouts do you go to upgrade it, and roughly how much does it cost?
Thanks in advance for the replies!

    Hi Lan

You can not upgrade the Ultimate tickets I am afriad.

We are flying Economy. I just don't want to get to check in in Orlando to be told I can't check it in!
Oh I just don't know what to do. I got a quote from parcel2go and they quoted me £233 to collect in USA and deliver to the UK. At that price I may as well buy the item here in the UK. In case anyone is wondering/puzzled as to what it is I am wanting to bring back. It is a John Deere Gator, pictured here .........

    My daughter will love it.
I just need to get it here.

If you CAN NOT get it back and I hope you can then heres an alternative. We wanted to get my little 4 year old a hummer for his birthday as he saw them in teh US and loved it. We got it from eBay in teh end for 140 quid which was not too bad. They are really cool 12v two seaters and he loves it

We are going for 2 weeks and idealy would like to be able to visit the following ( preferably also be able to go between parks during day/evening)

    Bush Gardens
    Disney Magic Kingdom
    Epcot
    Typhoon Lagoon
    Universal studios
    IOA
    Aquatica
    possibly wet & wild

Hi, I found the cheapest was to book the tickets from the Virgin rep (honestly!) They'll beat the best price you can find on the internet, and usually throw in a few freebies.

I'll try and group them for you - MK, Epcot and TL you can do on the Disney Ultimate ticket, best bought from the UK (would also give you unlimited day / night entry and park hopping). You would also get Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom thrown in. I didn't rate AK, however Hollywood Studios is hugely better than you think it's going to be!!!

The Halloween Party isn't included in any ticket - it's separate payment - I think there's a link above in how to get one. Word of warning though, the parks are fabulously quiet during the day, no queues for any rides, however, for theme nights they were megga packed last week - and I mean, megga (we're talking crowd control proportions!!!), and all the niceness and politeness you experience during the days seems to go out of the windows!!! One tip would be, that if there's a theme night on at MK, then either go to Epcot fireworks (9 pm every night) or the Fantasia show at HS, as they'll be much quieter. HS opens till midnight one day per week, check with your rep, or pick up a guide in any Disney park, and it'll tell you. The atmosphere is buzzing!!!

Aquatica was .....okay, but busier than Disney which meant queues! If you've got the Ultimate Ticket, then I'd recommend going to Blizzard Beach instead (another Disney one), which overall was our favourite water park out of them all (excepting Discovery Cove which was first class, but v. v. expensive!). BB also has much more available shade than any of the other water parks, and it has a ski-chair ride to take you up to the steep chutes, so you don't have to lug your donuts up miles and miles!!!

Busch Gardens was brilliant, and IMHO streets ahead of Disney AK - as you've not really got any other Busch-Anheuser parks (except Aquatica) you might just want a day ticket to this. However, if you decided you wanted to include Sea World (worth it just for the Shamu show!) and Aquatica, you can get a multi-park ticket.

Virgin do a buy 2 get 3rd day free Universal Ticket (which covers both parks). We went for 3 weeks and only used 2 days - Studio's was fabulous, IoA we managed to do in about 3 hours!!!! City Walk is free to get into, it's just all the meals etc. you have to pay for (you might get a freeby meal depending where you buy your tickets).

You didn't mention Downtown Disney, which is another buzzing place at night - remember to stand under Stitch at the Disney Emporium store and stare at her!!! (Only joking!) You can use your Ultimate Ticket to get into Disney Quest, worth going to if you find yourself stuck with a thunder / lighting storm! There's heaps of restaurants, fairly expensive (compared to other American dining places) but a choice of just about everything.

For either Busch Gardens or IoA, definitely take spare shorts n' T-Shirts for the water rides. They're not to be missed, but you will end up absolutely drenched (and a poncho won't save you!!!)

We didn't go to W&W as it looked .... old .... compared to the others, but would hugely welcome any reviews for when we go back!

    Have the best time!!!

We have just booked for Florida May 09 which will be our first visit. We are completely green about tickets/car hire/anything about disneyworld at all really. We are taking our two grandchildren girl 11 boy 6 and need advice on how and what sort of tickets to buy. Can anyone advise us on what sort of tickets we need we are ideally looking not to spend a whole 2 weeks in the parks maybe just a week with a week doing other things but then again I am not sure. GD is 11 and not a fan of big rides GD loves big rides but is only 6 and not very tall so may hit height restrictions. What are the best parks to go to??? Sorry if this is babbling on but now we have booked we are trying to find out the next best thing to do. Also car hire!!!! There is another nightmare on where and what to get, but maybe I will leave that till i sort out the theme parks :-)

In the second week you could always visit Clearwater, drive to Miami, the Keys, Everglades. There is loads to do. I never spend two weeks at the parks either. What we tend to do is maybe 2 days at Disney - but we only go for the mornings then hit the Disney waterparks in the afternoon. Then we might have a day at Clearwater, then maybe a couple of days at Universal then back to Disney for a few. Last time i went we drove to Key Largo then spent two days there, then drove up to the everglades and did the whole alligator air boat thing then went and wasted a day in Miami.

As for car hire i always use https://www.dollar.co.uk since they are reasonable and everything is included so no messing about with insurance or extras when you get there.

To stay - I always stay in Kissimmee not least because its much cheaper but also because i like to get away from things of an evening - make sure you go to Old Town!

Things to give a miss - Wet and wild is crap, Seaworld is boring (if you want to see Dolphins see them in Clearwater in their natural habitat)

A lot of Orlando is hit and miss, im going in Jan for our fourth time and everytime we have found something better to do.

I too found that booking Disney tickets with the Virgin reps in Orlando worked out far cheaper for us (you don't have to be travelling with Virgin).

After exchanging emails and deciding what we wanted she rang me to take my card details (we paid in $), emailed me a receipt and we picked the tickets up at the airport when we arrived.

The only difference is roadside assistance and a full tank of fuel mate.

29 days to go for my first ever visit to the Magic Kingdom. My youngest wants to go to see Peter Pan first so we can get some fairy dust and never die :D. She also thinks it never rains in the MK.
