Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows anything good to take for jet lag? I always get it on the way there and it ruins the first few days of my holiday!

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows anything good to take for jet lag? I always get it on the way there and it ruins the first few days of my holiday!
Thanks
I have to travel for work a lot and the thing i do is when I get tot he hotel, I shower and go for a walk and get a large coffee or hot drink. Then go out that night for a while even if its shopping and try and stay up until at least 9:30. Then make sure the room is very dark and all curtains closed. When you wake at 2 am or before, go for a weeand then head back to bed.
Good luckSelf confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

I was dissapointed with myself as we bought the universal flexticket and the disney ultimate 14 day tickets which cost a small fortune and we didnt get to go to all the places,so wasted money there:mad:
the theme parks were ok the kids loved them but wanted to go back to the hotel around 1 oclock as they were so tired i think it would have been better if they were older they are just turned 4 and 6
if we did go again we would definatly hire a car as the taxis were so expensive when you need one every day twice a day it soon adds up and definatly would need a sat nav as the places are so huge
and to cross a road omg you need to run accross them and when you have 10 lanes of traffic to cross and only 30 seconds,i was so scared!
another tip i would have to say is make sure you have comfy shoes as there is lots of walking,
also my feet swelled up after the flight and nothing fitted me so i was in agony for the first 4 days i even bought some airwalk crocs and they rubbed me aswell
i was supprised at how cheap the place is in general, even eating in the parks wasnt that bad although we bought sandwiches and took drinks in with us in a cool bag to save some money, although for all 4 of us to eat out was around $25 so that wasnt bad at all
we went to prime and premier outlets and got loads of bargains the bigger one at prime is much better although is very spaced out but a lot more shops
we also went to walmart and got a ds lite in the new pink colour for our daughter for xmas it was only $129.99 and the good thing is if it breaks asda will take it back so we will still get the guarentee
another tip i would mention is the refill cups at around $6.99 and the refills were 69c were a bargain this was at universal,we went to islands of adventure and bought a cup, refilled it all day and the next day we were going to universal studios so i took the cup with me and they refilled it no bother so definatly get one of them
the kids loved it and got loads of autographs and pictures of the characters,
the kids got us up at 2am i guess this is jet lag?im so tired, ivthink we need a holiday to get over the holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry t o hear the flight back was cruddy. I think also remember its the end of a holiday so I always feel a little down and therefore the flight will never be good?
Did you have a buggy for the park? My kids are the same age as you and they are OK all day in a park. They get tired and we pop them in the buggy or go do a sit down show.
Well done on the DS. We got the same colour, little girls and metallic rose eh? I would recommend you get a charger though from eBay for about 4 quid as the US one wont work here as its only 110v. I will try and find you a link!

we didnt take a buggy with us but we bought a cheap buggy fro $29.99 it was awful to push,so low i got backache pushing but it did its job,i think also as they were not used to the hot weather it was too much for them
im so chuffed with the ds,we even got a pink accessory kit for it with the case, headphones and car charger etc i just hope the car charger works in uk?that was aslso from walmart $19.99,
my daughter will be over the moon with it,shes going to have to wait till christmas though!
i will definatly get the charger from ebay, thanks for that

You are so right about those buggys, was it the Pooh bear one - a real pain and yep I hated pushing them as they are too low.

Can anyone confirm that these tickets for Universal are valid for May next year? They are advertised on "dreamsunlimitedtravel.com" for $94.99, good value I think.

Thats another blow.
Puts Travel City Direct out of the reckoning!
Cannot see qutie so many Sales coming from Virgin and BA now.
I went with TCD twice and neither time had problems.
Who's next?
Should get some good accomadation deals now!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

I think thats a bit insensitive as some people on the forum might be caught up in this.
I have a holiday booked with Airtours Direct to Florida in 3 weeks and must admit making me feel a bit nervous now in case the same happens to them.
Should be looking forward to it and not worrying it might not happen!
As for all who are affected I hope you all get your money back and are able to get something else booked.0 -
i've went with tcd for many years but not this year thank god, but your heart does go out to all those families who have had their dream holiday shattered0

How the hell was that insensitive? It was trying to give the heads up as early as possible to people.
I think that some people just sit on their backsides wishing to find fault with others posts.
I am sure there are people 'involved' on this forum, they maybe able to get their money back and then rebook and search for accommodation, and recoup a little of their lost money.
I suggest before you make inane comments about people being insensitive you might look at yourself!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
