    Hi,

Is £300 a good price for a return flight only to Orlando on a Charter, out of season, i.e. 25th Sept - 20th Oct 08?

i am surprised you felt you needed to ask that, i would literally snap there hand off at that price, £150 to america, great deal, Dave
Take every day as it comes!!

I'm not up-to-date on all things Orlando nowadays, as last time I went, flights were £150 return in 1999 :o

    Thx for the reply.

Discovery Cove is well worth the money. My son and myself went in September 2007 and I have to say, it was probably the best day of the holiday.

I agree. And if you're planning to go to Seaworld/Aquatica/Busch Gardens as well, the all-inclusive package is good value.

Its not a bad price but for 327 you can get Virgin flights out of season as well. I think a good price for charter to Orlando out of season is around the 250 mark really.

I think we are definately going. So, now need to plan what we are going to do while we are there. We are only going for a week Thur-Thur (wish it was 2 weeks but dh can only get 1 week off). So will have 6 days there. I was thinking 1 day Seaworld and 1 Bush Gardens (dh is in the army and so we get free entry), probably 1 day mid holiday shopping. That leaves only 3 days left. Has anyone got any suggestions where to go with a 4 year old little girl? How many days do we allocated for Magic Kingdom?
    Thanks
Go there is LOADS there for a 4 year old the land of dragons is amongst my DD fav place of all parcs personally I hate big roller coasters:eek: (yes I'm a chicken)and I love BG ther is sooo much to do and the food there is great esp the smokehouse hope you have a fantastic hl enjoy

hmm horse riding at fort wilderness...been there done that, wont be going back! the americans are so afraid of being sued they have completly lost the plot! the horses are tied together, and look completly bored , they obviously need to let their manes down! so the horses are tid together, you are then put on a horse according to your size, so i me bieing 6foot 4 had the largest hores at the front and my pertner 5 for 10 was at the back, so we could ride together, could talk together, werent allowed to move the horses, they just plodded around for about an hour in a large 8 figure through the woods.no troting or cantering, they might as well have been disney horses, covered in plastic on a track.very boring, dont expect excitment and adventure!.wow rant over!

For an adult - yeah might not be exciting but my 9 year old daughter has never been on a horse in her life so is delighted and even more so cause its at Disney. As for just plodding around quite happy about that. Not looking for excitement and adventure just an intro to horse riding for my daughter. And I imagine anyone with young kids and novices (like myself) the pace is just fine. Not looking to win the Grand National, just another magical moment at Disney and a great memory for my daughter.

Thanks, I am on a tight budget and as there are 4 of us 2+2 it works out a lot of money, I got great deals on flights Thomas Cook £300 per flight and car hire £192 for 2 weeks with a free upgrade from www.carhireflorida.net
I suppose if we then go to the other parks then the valuse would be there but I already have 7 day disney tickets from last time, I don't want to wear everyone out.

  • hi all,

I'm off to Florida next month

I was actually born in Miami so I really should have all the answers to visiting FLorida!

I have just got car hire with budget £157 for 13 days which I'm really happy about (visited budget.COM and used code U110900 - it is from the sites own specials section) Was wondering if I have to purchase a CDW when I get there? My OH said we do but I don't know... any advice?

Also, we are only going to Islands of Adventure, no other parks as we don't have the time with so many friends to see! Any cheap deals on this? If I buy before we go? Or anything coupons I can pick up when there?

    Thanks

    H x
I miss using my infinite coupons at Tesco!
2010 was the worst year ever :(
But 2011 so far has been a lot of fun! :j

  • just thought i'd update were back from our holiday to orlando florida, the flight on the way there was bad,our first time flying and the landing was like being on a rollercoaster i thought we were going to crash, then it finally landed and everyone was cheering like they thought the same as us,i was also put next to a couple and my oh and two children were sat in front of me,when you have a son who cannot sit still for 5 minutes never mind 8 hours!that was fun.
I was dissapointed with myself as we bought the universal flexticket and the disney ultimate 14 day tickets which cost a small fortune and we didnt get to go to all the places,so wasted money there:mad:
the theme parks were ok the kids loved them but wanted to go back to the hotel around 1 oclock as they were so tired i think it would have been better if they were older they are just turned 4 and 6
if we did go again we would definatly hire a car as the taxis were so expensive when you need one every day twice a day it soon adds up and definatly would need a sat nav as the places are so huge
and to cross a road omg you need to run accross them and when you have 10 lanes of traffic to cross and only 30 seconds,i was so scared!
another tip i would have to say is make sure you have comfy shoes as there is lots of walking,
also my feet swelled up after the flight and nothing fitted me so i was in agony for the first 4 days i even bought some airwalk crocs and they rubbed me aswell
i was supprised at how cheap the place is in general, even eating in the parks wasnt that bad although we bought sandwiches and took drinks in with us in a cool bag to save some money, although for all 4 of us to eat out was around $25 so that wasnt bad at all
we went to prime and premier outlets and got loads of bargains the bigger one at prime is much better although is very spaced out but a lot more shops
we also went to walmart and got a ds lite in the new pink colour for our daughter for xmas it was only $129.99 and the good thing is if it breaks asda will take it back so we will still get the guarentee
another tip i would mention is the refill cups at around $6.99 and the refills were 69c were a bargain this was at universal,we went to islands of adventure and bought a cup, refilled it all day and the next day we were going to universal studios so i took the cup with me and they refilled it no bother so definatly get one of them
the kids loved it and got loads of autographs and pictures of the characters,
the kids got us up at 2am i guess this is jet lag?im so tired, ivthink we need a holiday to get over the holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
