for currency try xetrade.com or xe.com. Best rates around

Also be very careful on buying stuff like tickets of eBay, I do not want to scare but sometimes these are used tickets or expired and you are screwed when you get there. I am sure it will be fine but please please be careful

Thanks, although I only bought one ticket from a reputable dealer on ebay and used it fine on our trip in May this year. The rest I bought from themeparktickets as they were the cheapest deal at the time. Always leave tickets nearer the time and keep money in savings. Not travelling there till June next year now.

I always use Thomas Exchange Global which offer the best rates for me as my son can pick the money up (he works nearby). http://www.thomasexchangeglobal.co.uk/exchange1.php

for transfer may I suggest a company I have used fr over ten years. Its Tiffany Town Cars.

    Couldn't agree more disney_cjd

Have used both Tiffany and Mears many times before Disney's Magical Express arrived on the scene. Mears are fine for shuttles, but for that bit of extra class, Tiffany are superb. They also work out cheaper than the shuttle for family-sized parties.

  • Has anyone stayed in the cheaper Disney hotels eg Pop or the ALL stars hotels?
  • Yup, stayed at Pop Century and really enjoyed it, I think the last time I posted that on this thread a few people also came in and agreed. Great for kids, good food court, several pools, buses can be busy as its a big resort but they do have their own bus. Specifically asked for a room in the 50's building over looking the lake, very quiet and you could see the fireworks from Epcot at a push but every morning we watched lots of wild life on the lake.

Yes I have stayed in both. They are absolutley fine, none of the frills of the bigger Disney hotels but still themed. My sons enjoyed both.

Stayed at Pop Century and All Star Sports - both are very good but I preferred Pop Century ( going back in there in 3 weeks, cant wait!). Great value! You can also visit the other Disney hotels as well. This time I am going horse riding at Fort Wilderness as well.

have stayed in all stars movies and music, loved them both, i think they have more disney feeling than the largere more expensive resorts. besides we only use our hotel to sleep in and use the pools at the end of a day in the parks, so the rooms are perfect and cheap for that.sports was the first to be built, and it shows, its a bit run down and overgrown.and feels very small and closed in, go for one of the other ones.
hmm horse riding at fort wilderness...been there done that, wont be going back! the americans are so afraid of being sued they have completly lost the plot! the horses are tied together, and look completly bored , they obviously need to let their manes down! so the horses are tid together, you are then put on a horse according to your size, so i me bieing 6foot 4 had the largest hores at the front and my pertner 5 for 10 was at the back, so we could ride together, could talk together, werent allowed to move the horses, they just plodded around for about an hour in a large 8 figure through the woods.no troting or cantering, they might as well have been disney horses, covered in plastic on a track.very boring, dont expect excitment and adventure!.wow rant over!

I sent my in laws there for a few days when they were staying with us :) they loved it. Got them into the Pop Century on Cast Member rates of about 60 dollars for the night.

I think the Pop hotels are better located (and newer) than the All Stars. The Value resorts are great for families mind you and have food courts rather than restaurants etc but the magic is still the same.

    As for fav hotels....

I would go for moderates - Port Orleans, much smaller than the Caribean beach club and great boat ride to DTD.

Posh, Animal Kingdom lodge takes some beating in my mind.

Others which are great are the Boardwalk and the sheer coolness of the Contemporary, but as I said a while ago on a rainy day or if you need some R&R just take a cruise around all of the hotels. You are free to walk around them all and they are all great!

    Cheers
