we are off to Orlando again in June. Would love to stay in a Disney hotel but most only seem to take 2 adults and 2 kids in a room.
DS will still be in a cot, could I just book for four people and then ask for a cot as well.
It brings the price of staying at Disney way way up otherwise
Yes you can. Ask for a crib though the yanks don't speak English.
The state will allow max occupancy per room,. I think its 5 in Florida so you could be OK.
Do you know what Disney hotel it is?
You can check its details on allears.net or call teh actual hotel directly using 1899.com perhaps?Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

Thanks...seems things have changed recently then, I can only assume due to the dollar rate (shocking today M&S have a rate of $1.69!!! I use Thomas Exchange Global thank goodness, still awful though).
I will still wait nearer the time for myself as there are always offers on at the end of May when we go (although I have booked our flights with Virgin). I managed to get my daughter a 14 day Ultimate ticket on ebay for £100 this year which saved £40, Our 4 adult tickets I bought 2 weeks before we went at themeparktickets for £159 each. I have used this company too who will also price match and send tickets out v quickly. http://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk/
for currency try xetrade.com or xe.com. Best rates around
Also be very careful on buying stuff like tickets of eBay, I do not want to scare but sometimes these are used tickets or expired and you are screwed when you get there. I am sure it will be fine but please please be careful

Hi everyone
I have been given the lucky task of booking a 2009 holiday to Orlando for 13 family and friends, no pressure there then!
I've been given various advice of how to go about it (including "book the flights now or you'll be in trouble!"), and would be really grateful if any of you seasoned experts could recommend a plan of action?!
Some key requirements are:- Two weeks in September 2009 (we've considered three, but seems a stretch too far)
- Luxury villa (willing to spend that little bit extra)
- Flights from London (at least two of us want an upgrade)
- Obviously a rather large van (we've had a 15-seater before, but is it worth getting two 4x4s?) with no nasty surprise charges at the airport
- Tickets to key attractions (Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Typhoon Lagoon, Universal's Islands of Adventure, Magic Kingdom & SeaWorld Orlando/Aquatica/Discovery Cove Orlando) and any others that you may recommend
- Optional some are considering hopping over to California, Las Vegas & even New York for a couple of days!
If I was in your position I would book in the following order:
1. Flights
2. Accomodation (huge amount of choice - you won't have a problem finding something)
3. Car Hire (check out Airline Network - v. good)
4. Park tickets
We went to WDW this year and rented a villa in Windsor Hills. We had a 3 bedroom villa but I think they do villas of up to 6 bedrooms. Great location off the 192 (lots of restaurants) and only 5 mins drive to Animal Kingdom via Sherberth Road. One of the newest villa communities and therefore in excellent condition. Google Windsor Hills and you'll come up with lots of options.
Two (or more) cars sounds like an excellent idea, but as others have said, beware that the luggage space on 4x4's are limited.
We used Virgin and upgraded to Premium Econ on the return. I was disappointed, not so much in terms of space/comfort as it was an improvement on the usual economy seats. On our flight, entertainment didn't work, food was horrible and crew were noisy and unprofessional. VA service is not what it used to be and I have flown with them many times! Next time we will use BA!
Hope this helps!0 -

I don not want to start a Virgin bashing side point but they really have gone downhill as far as customer service goes. Dreadful,. And the are never on time from London either.Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

I'm trying to organise our first Disney/Florida family holiday.
2 Adults and 2 kids (14 and 9). Does it work out cheaper doing a package holiday r through one operator (please can you give some recommendations) or is it better to book things separately. We are hoping to go either Easter or Feb 2009. Probably left it too late for Feb 2009. Is it better to stay in a Villa or at the Parks? We've stayed at the Parks at Disneyland Paris and that was brilliant but not sure this time around. We need flights from Gatwick.
Apologies for all the questions but am use to organise short European holidays

Hi, we booked with hayes and jarvis for easter 09. Flights are with Virgin and there are 5 of us going at a cost of £3000 staying at the Wyndam hotel, International Drive.
I priced it up on other sites including Virgins own site and it came to at least £1500 more!
It doesn't include transfers but thats easy to sort out on the internet also.0 -

for transfer may I suggest a company I have used fr over ten years. Its Tiffany Town Cars.
They are cheaper than a taxi and they will collect you from baggage claim by a chap ina shirt and tie and will take you directly to their car, a nice town car or limoand then take you to your hotel or villa. There is even coupon on their site
http://www.tiffanytowncars.com/
They will even drop you off at a supermarket on the way so you can get some shopping like milk etc and wait for you.Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!
