Have stayed at All Stars Sports, All Stars Music and Pop Century. Of these, much prefer Pop Century, the theming and location are just better. The kids in my family LOVE these resorts, much more so than the adults love the mods and luxury resorts. I swear to them its like living in a cartoon for a week or so!

My personal faves are Old Key West (suites and apartments), Yacht and Beach (luxury), and Port Orleans (moderate).

  • hi all, we are planning a holiday (2 to 3 weeks) to Orlando in Nov 09, and I was wondering about flights and budgetting for them (as cannot book them at this stage). Does anyone have any idea with regards to how much flights may be? It would be for two adults preferably flying from Manchester (but would manage to use any airport). Just trying to work out how much I have to stash away!!

I've just booked for 5 of us to go Oct 09 with Virgin for £3200 for a 3bedroom apartment that had fabulous reviews. (including half term week)
The same holiday was over a £1000 more with First Choice and Thomson.
My sister has just booked to go this November for £1500 for 3 people in a basic hotel with Virgin which I thought was good value.

we have just booked for next may 2009, four adults, and 2 teenage boys (14,17) whuch are adult fares, staying at disney allstar music resort for 14 days for £4200. staying in two rooms, it was the cheapest we could find through jetsave holidays flying with virgin atlantic.if we booked exactly the same holiday from virgin it would have been over £6000! try your travel agent, ask if they use jetsave.get them to do a little phoning around.we left it to our local travel agent for 4 days to see what she could come up with.harvey travel brilliant.so thats £2000 saved for tickets ,food shopping ,fun!
  • We have been quoted £1000 for flights for dd and I plus hotel for dh, dd and I (he is working in AMerica so meeting up there). That is for Pop hotel and is with Virgin for November this year. Definately thinking of going at that price!

Yup, stayed at Pop Century and really enjoyed it, I think the last time I posted that on this thread a few people also came in and agreed. Great for kids, good food court, several pools, buses can be busy as its a big resort but they do have their own bus. Specifically asked for a room in the 50's building over looking the lake, very quiet and you could see the fireworks from Epcot at a push but every morning we watched lots of wild life on the lake.

yep, we stayed at pop century and it was brilliant, coincidently we stayed in the 60`s themed block, overlooking the lake and watched the fireworks from epcot, and the early morning walks across the bridge over the lake looking at all the terrapins and fish were lovely, how weird, lol
Take every day as it comes!!

There are a few varibles for flights really. Depends on when you are going as there is a half term at the end of October (27th in Kent) and then you have got a choice of scheduled or chartered (although I have heard it before that Virgin are more like a chartered nowadays).

If you have some dates in mind go to https://www.virgin-atlantic.co.uk and pop them in. They have direct flights from MAN to OIA (or MCO as it used to be called). If you are lucky and the dates are not school half term you may get the flights for 327 per person. If not they could be upto 600 per person.

    Cheers

If you book a flydrive with Virgin are you committed to use their car rental? Can you just take the flight not use their car rental at all and book your own? Sometimes it works out cheaper than just a flight.
I'm going in May next year and last time I looked on Virgin Atlantic about 3 weeks ago the flights for 2 adults + child were £2k+. They are now sub £1.5k!

    Hi

No you can leave it well alone - they will probably re sell it!

As for the cheaper prices, I think they have a sale on at the moment!!
