Where abouts do you want to stay? Whats your budget, will you have a car?

I can suggest lots of hotels but I have no idea if you want a cheap idrive place or a Disney property place.

    Here are some suggestions anyway....

    - best, go for the Animal Kingdom Lodge. One of the nicest luxary Disney resorts. Or try Port Orleans which is smaller than Caridean beach resort and in my view nicer, or from the value range go for Pop Century, the best value resort they do for location etc.

Or if you do not want Disney then a halfway house is the hotels on plaza bld such as Regal Sun. You can also try the Swan and Dolphin which are on Disney property but not managed by Disney.

Further away the Comfort Inn in LBV is always nice and a tad cheaper. Or the Nickelodeon Hoitel which is a fun place.

If you are after chains, I prefer Marriotts and there are some good ones in the Marriott Villiage at LBV or the Residence Inn on Palm Parkway. Have a look at Marriot.com

However, it seems you know where to look for reviews etc so have a look where you are looking and if there is something there that takes you fancy mention it back here and I am sure someone will give you a view.

    Cheers

Thanks for the above. Checked out all the above and considered Pop Century but decided that with kids that we really needed a kitchen so opted for a suite/ house instead.

Have friends who own a suite at Hawthorne Suites, Lake Beuna Vista, but opted to stay at Vista Cay in a three bed condo. Feedback on tripadvisor was fantastic. Anyone else been there?

Just a quick question - with the Disney 7 day premium ticket you get 7 days unlimited access to the 4 main parks, and 7 visits to the water parks, Downtown Disney etc. Am I right in thinking that a day isn't used if we just visited a water park on that day? I know the tickets expire 14 days from when they're first used, but I just want to confirm that if we decided to have a lazy day and just went to one of the water parks, that this wouldn't eat away one of our unlimited park days?

    Thanks in advance anyone

    Hi guys,

Can you help me out in relation to the above. Im going to Disney for 2 weeks over new year, so if i bought a 7day premium ticket could I essentially use that for 2 weeks eg 7days in the main parks and 7 days in the water park?

    Many thanks

Hi Just wanted to ask if anyone had been to the cirque de soleil show la Nouba? We're in Orlando nexr Feb and I was thinking about getting tickets but they are v expensive and I wondered whee people had sat ie are the cheaper tickets ok??

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi
We were there last Tuesday night (our last night), we got the cheaper tickets in area 206, these were spot on, didn't have to move my head at all during the show. Much of the show is up in the air. The people in the more expensive seats near the stage would have had a crook in their necks by the end of the show and would have had difficulty seeing some of the bits.

    Hope this helps.

Nouba sounds fantastic, I've not heard a bad word about it. We're in Orlando from the 23rd to the 29th September, Nouba aren't doing any performances from the 21st to the 29th...typical!

    you are safe

the parks are treated separate to the water parks

Thanks for that, we've decided to upgrade them to the Ultimate Tickets, for an extra tenner pp it makes sense not to be restricted to only a handful of visits to the waterparks etc, especially as we're there for the last open week of Downtown Disney - want to have a look at it before it closes.

Am I right in thinking that you can't make the Ultimate tickets non-expiration, that only applies to the Premium ones?

Also, has anyone does the Segway tour at either Epcot or Wilderness whatsitcalled? Is it worth it?

YOu can take ANY disney ticket to the guest relations at any park or DTD and upgrade them. The cost is around 50 dollars a ticket I think, might be more.

Also not all of DTD is closing. Only pleasure island and thats because City Walk is caning Disney at the adult entertainment thing so they are making DTD more family focused. However Raglon Road and some others will stay open.

Will be thankful for any help offered. I have looked back about 40 pages of this thread and picked up some helpful tips. Looking for some advice.

We have booked two years before we were planning to (been saving for years but the recent expedia austrialia flights were just too good to miss). So we are off in April next year for 12 night. This is really only 10 days as the first and last are travelling. The focus of this holiday are the parks and we thought a 5 day Disney and 3 day Universal would do the trick.

Question 1. I have looked at the various sites suggested for purchasing tickets to get the best deal. However is there a time of year that things might be even cheaper. eg do they have a January sale type of thing?

Question 2. We have booked the Floridays on International Drive. It operates a shuttle to the Disney Parks but not Universal. Apart from the parks one off day included going to a discount Mall of which there is one a block from the apartments. Do I need a car? I will take one if it makes sense.

    Thanks

    Hi Dingles,

It is the palce where Dreams Come true so well done!!

As for the ticket prices, there is not really a cheap time, there is no sale. Both Disney and Universal put there prices up in August each year so you need to buy them before then!

I have been to Orlando many times without a car and have coped quite well with shuttles and cabs etc. BUT if you are happy to ahve a car and can afford it I woudl go for one now. We have one over here in the garage as it would be hard without one with kids.

There are shuttles to other parks you can pay for such as Mears etc. Also remember if you drive to the parks you will have to pay parking so at Disney is 12 dollars a day which is a rip off if you ask me.

    cheers

So (sorry, I'll stop asking questions soon) it says on the website I bought the tickets from that the Ultimate expire after 14 days. As we're only going to using them for the first 7, would we just go after we've used the 7 days and get the non-expiration? So we should have 7 days left that we can use, whenever? Won't be going back til at least the end of next year

I've never been to DTD, I'm always completely shattered by about 6pm, evidently not as young as I used to be. But figured it's as good an excuse as any to go have a look. Do you have to pay to get in the clubs? Are drinks very expensive?

:rotfl: I heard that about 10 times yesterday, tried to book some dinner reservation (unfortunately we'd left it too late)

ticket expires 14 days from first day of use for ultimate pass and first day must be by the end of the year (if its a ticket for this year)
